Here we’ll take a look at the latest additions to the Ethnicraft collection, and how these new pieces work with our range of solid wood beds. These new designs tie in beautifully with the latest trends in interior design and are a great way to update your bedroom.

Soft Lines and Mixing Materials

This collection features softly curved angles, or a mix of materials or colours. The range is exemplified by the new Gabbia chair – a comfortable chair made with a solid oak seat and a black lacquered metal frame. I love this chair – it’s so much more comfy than you would imagine! It would look great with a dressing table or as an occasional bedroom chair. This Disc console table would look perfect with the Gabbia, again it has a curved metal base with a solid oak top.

Another new addition to the range is the Verso table, again it is a mix of natural oak and a colour – it has a solid oak frame and top, with drawers in white or black. The Verso would suit an office or a bedroom – the drawers providing useful storage for a dressing table, just add a Magnify mirror in oak to complete the look.

These items work well with our upholstered beds – choose a solid oak frame (natural or stained black) with a softly rounded upholstered headboard. Take a look at the Arran and Highland beds for inspiration. The Damien table and Cage laundry basket would be the perfect finishing touches.

Crisp Angles – Bold Rectilinear Shapes

This look is all about modern shapes and strong, graphic lines. The Monolit range uses slim, square section metal frames in black or white, with solid oak storage elements (in natural oak or black stained oak). The range includes bedside tables, console tables, cupboards and low storage units. We would suggest these storage pieces suit our modern beds including the Malabar and Sahara mid-height beds, the low Kulu bed and the Cube contemporary four-poster.

We also have a range of accessories that would work really well with this collection, including the black storage mirror, Wireworks console table and Mezza caddy.

Japanese Minimalism – Carved Solid Wood and Elegant Simplicity

This look incorporates a minimalist ‘zen’ simplicity perfect for a calm, restful bedroom space. The designs are unfussy, well-made and elegant. The new Ethnicraft designs in the range include the Osso stool, the Hall desk and Wave storage table. The Osso stools are available in natural oak, black stained oak and walnut – they look amazing with our Japanese style beds – the Kyoto, Kumo and Kobe.  They can be used as an occasional bedside table or as a seat, possibly to go with a dressing table. Take a look at the oak Wave table for the ultimate in minimalism. Alternatively, if you would like to reference the subtle curves in the Osso, pair it with a Hall table. The Hall has a pair of drawers, in white or black, that curve around the oak table top.

For a pared back look storage is key – try the Flat tall boy or Black Lotus chests of drawers to ensure you can keep your bedroom feeling restful. The Kyoto bedside drawer table, low Cube table and Ethnicraft Azur drawer table are good choices if you want to mazimise storage space while maintaining a contemporary style.
