Solid Wood Beds, Made In Sheffield

The Natural Bed Company makes contemporary wooden beds using solid timber from sustainable sources.

We design and make our wooden beds in workshops near our showroom in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Our beds are made to order and our skilled craftsmen can often customise our beds to suit your room. We sell online and from our showrooms in Sheffield's Devonshire Quarter; we don't supply any other outlets.

We've been selling modern furniture and furnishings since 1974; we're a specialist bed company selling our contemporary wooden beds throughout the world.

Our other great enthusiasm is our Indian Collection. We're enthralled by the colours and textures of Indian fabrics and for manyyears we've enjoyed producing contemporary bed linen in India – you can buy our bed linen online onthe quilts and duvet covers pages. We're also great enthusiasts of Indian woodcarving and we've designed four carved sheshamwood beds which are made exclusively for us by a family in Rajasthan, including the new Kutch four poster.

More about our wooden beds

Our wooden beds are designed with clean modern lines and built with solid timbers such as oak, walnut, maple, ash, cherry, beech and pine – we don't use veneers. We also make futon sofa beds and futon mattresses. Our beds are delivered flat packed for easy home assembly and can be delivered Worldwide. If you are in the UK, all our beds can be bought securely online.

Pine beds

Our philosophy is to make our beds as accessible as possible so we offer our modern designs in pine as pine wooden beds well as hardwoods. Click here to see some of our most popular pine beds, all on one page. Our contemporary pine beds are made to the same sahara pine bedexacting standards as our hardwood beds; they're also made in our workshops in Sheffield, UK. We use a high quality timber for our pine beds so, although there will be some knots they will be few and small. Our pine beds are offered in different finishes:

Sanded pine beds are the lowest price and a good choice if you want to finish the bed yourself, maybe to match other colours in your bedroom;

Clear pine beds have a matt lacquer with a slight sheen which protects the wood and brings out the richness of the wood;

Stained pine beds can be ordered in a choice of colours. They have a final finish of clear matt lacquer. Wenge is a popular colour for a contemporary oriental bed.
