If you are looking for a traditional bed base with a contemporary twist our Classic Beds range is the perfect place to start. From the thin, elegant lines of the Cochin, to the chunky platform design of the Ocean, we have a classic, solid wooden bed to fit any room and aesthetic.

To help you along in making the big decision, I’ll take you through the features of our Classic Range bed by bed, starting with my personal favourite, the Cochin.

The Cochin Bed

With its high headboard and eye-catching tapered legs, the Cochin bed highlights both the craftsmanship of our woodworking team, and the beauty of the solid timber we use. The dramatic grain and colour of Walnut, Oak and Cherry work perfectly with this design. Its prominent headboard panel, and the alternating direction of the grain on the legs, bring out the natural beauty of the wood. The Cochin is shown here in a traditional panelled Edwardian bedroom, but the striking design will work in a variety of settings.

The Tibet Bed

Looking for a more modern style? A perennial customer favourite is the Tibet bed with its bold, linear outline timeless in its design. In addition to the standard pine and hardwood finishes, we offer the option of an inlay strip in the headboard. An exotic Zebrano timber is paired with Maple as shown in the first image above. And a strip of Walnut contrasting with Oak has proved popular in the past. As all our beds are made to order we can combine any of the hardwood timbers we stock. Just get in touch and we will provide you with a price. Another customisable option for the Tibet bed is to add a footboard (see the last image above). To work out the price for this simply add 15% to the standard cost.

The Ocean Bed

With its chunky legs, high headboard, and platform design, the Ocean bed certainly stands out. Initially it was designed as a bespoke bed for a customer. We loved the design so much we added it to our range of Classic Beds. It’s certainly the ideal choice if you wish to focus on the wood itself. The size of the headboard and the thickness of the timber used in the legs, footboard, and side rails, allow the changes in tone and grain to be seen on a grand scale.

The Zanskar Bed

The Zanskar bed is good choice for avid readers, having a tall sloping headboard that creates the perfect reclining position for curling up with a good book. As with all the beds in our Classic Beds range, the Zanskar can accommodate under-bed storage (up to 4 drawers on double sizes and above). The sleek sloping design of the headboard, and the tapered legs offer an updated twist on a traditional design.
