GPSR regulations

In compliance with EU GPSR regulations we provide the following Furniture Safety & Guidance document:

Please take some time to read the safety and care guidance below. This will probably feel like common sense, but it is still important to read to ensure safe use of the product and to ensure the longevity of your furniture.

We really do welcome & appreciate any feedback you may have. Please do feel free to email us with any questions or request for advice regarding your product.

Solid Wood Beds:

Our beds are designed to provide a comfortable and supportive platform for a good night’s rest.
Our beds are intended for adults, but are safe for older children to sleep on – however we recommend that the parent or guardian determine the suitability of the bed for their child.

Safety Information:

This is a self-assembly bed base, please carefully follow the assembly instructions included with your bed base to ensure your bed will function as intended.
Please note: we recommend all beds are ideally assembled by two people, where items are large or heavy, this will be necessary in order to assemble the item safely.
Please use the hex key/spanner provided, we strongly advise you to not use power tools as they can over-tighten the fittings and damage the wood.
Where included please use the non-slip matting provided – this will prevent movement of your mattress on the slatted base.
Please maintain your bed base by regularly checking that fittings are secure. When loosened please tighten as appropriate.
Do not stand on any items of our furniture. Always ensure the furniture is placed on level ground and not on any uneven surface that could pose a risk to its stability.
Our beds are intended for adults, but are safe for older children to sleep on. However please note that they are not intended for jumping on! Please ensure your child is supervised by a responsible adult whilst using the furniture piece and understands how to use the bed safely.
The canopy rails on four poster beds are decorative and not intended to be weight bearing.
While every effort has been made to smooth the edges of your furniture, as with all wooden furniture there is always a small risk of splinters over time, so please be mindful of this. These can be carefully sanded off using sandpaper.

Upholstered Headboard Panels – Flammability Resistance/Compliance:

If your wooden bed incorporates an upholstered headboard panel – this article contains CM Foam which passes the specified test.
All upholstery is cigarette resistant.
All cover fabric is match resistant.
Does not include a schedule 3 inter-liner.
Conforms to BS 7177: 2008 for domestic use.
Please always take care, particularly with a naked flame, lit cigarette etc – carelessness causes fire.

Nightstands & Under-bed Drawers:

Our bedside tables and under-bed drawers are intended for use by adults, though can be used by older children as determined by their parent or guardian.
The bedside tables arrive complete – no assembly necessary.
Some of our bedside tables are complete with a drawer for the storage of small items.
Our under-bed drawers require only light assembly – to attach 4 small wheels using the screws included.

Safety Information:

Though intended for use by adults, our bedside tables can be used in an older child’s bedroom.
However please ensure your child is supervised by a responsible adult whilst using the furniture piece and understands how to use the furniture safely – to ensure they do not trap their fingers in a drawer, pull the item over or climb on the furniture. NB: Do not stand on any items of our furniture.
Always ensure the furniture is placed on level ground and not on any uneven surface that could pose a risk to its stability.

Furniture Care Instructions:

To clean the furniture piece, wipe with a soft dry cloth. Some spills may require use of a soft, slightly damp cloth – please ensure the cleaned surface is dried as soon as possible.
Please be mindful that wood is a natural product that responds to temperature and humidity variations by expanding and contracting. With this in mind, we advise you to keep the piece in consistent, stable conditions to minimise the effects of temperature and moisture change.
Avoiding storing it very close to heat sources such as a radiator and avoiding leaving it in humid conditions for long periods of time. This will go a long way to ensuring its longevity.
If you move your bed within a room it should be handled with care. It should not be dragged, especially from the corner; it should be lifted and moved by two people (minimum) supporting it on opposite sides of the bed. If being moved from room to room it must be dismantled and reassembled.
If you have ordered a piece of furniture with a sanded finish, we recommend sealing the item to reduce the risk of staining. When applying your own finish to the sanded item, unfortunately we can’t be responsible for the finish achieved.

In the unlikely event of a problem with your furniture please contact us for assistance.
