Delivery Information

Here is an over-view of the various delivery companies we use to deliver our goods to you:

Domestic Distribution – 2 Man room of choice delivery

We use Domestic Distribution for all our national bed base, sofa-bed and futon deliveries. Cotton Chic, Craft and Comfort Dual mattresses will also be delivered on this service.

This delivery company offers a 2-man, room of choice delivery service and will contact you directly to arrange a date and 4-hour time-slot. You will also receive a phone call when the crew is 30 minutes away on the day of delivery.
Domestic Distribution arranges their deliveries via text message. The delivery date offered will be the soonest slot available for your post-code area. NB: The date and time offered my change depending on your response time to the text message.
The first delivery date offered will not be more than 10 working days after your collection date for all non-remote post-code areas. If you decline the first delivery date offered, the second slot will be in the following 3-7 working days after this initial date. The time-scale for delivery to remote area post-codes is extended to 14 working days. Please see below for a full list of remote areas:

On delivery, Domestic Distribution will take all items to the room of your choice, un-pack each item and remove any packaging.

Domestic Distribution gives non-remote area customers the option to request a specific date for delivery. Please see an overview of costs for this service below:

Day Specific Delivery (Monday-Friday): £36.00
Saturday Delivery: £42.00
AM/PM delivery: Add £24.00 to day specific cost.

 As standard, your bed will be delivered to you for ready for self-assembly. Domestic Distribution will assemble your bed on delivery for a charge of £48.00. This is based on assembly time of no more than 1 hour. If you require the assembly of multiple beds this charge may increase – please contact us for further pricing details.

 

DX Freight- overnight, to door only

We use DX Freight for the majority our national, vacuum-packed mattress only deliveries. This relates to the Waterlattex, Relaxsan, Orthosoft, Moon, Memotouch, Optimal Support, IKool Firm and Pocket Sprung Memory Medium mattresses. Occasionally we will use this service for smaller items of furniture (a single under-bed drawer for example) or larger bedding orders (multiple items including heavier items such as mattress toppers etc).

This is an overnight, to-door only service; the delivery crew will not enter your property. DX work to an 8am-6pm delivery time-slot. These deliveries can be arranged for any weekday convenient for you. We will contact you directly to arrange this. If you cannot be at home for the duration of the time-slot it is possible to arrange for the mattress to be left in a safe place e.g. a porch or garage, although this does have to be requested prior to the delivery date.

 

Local Delivery

For bed, bedroom furniture and mattress deliveries within Sheffield and the surrounding area, we deliver in our own van. These deliveries can be arranged Monday-Friday, generally with a 2 hour time-slot. Each item will be taken to the room of your choice, though furniture is delivered for self-assembly.

We can arrange for your bed to be assembled on delivery, however this will incur a charge of £25.00

We arrange our local deliveries ourselves; we will contact you as soon as your order is ready to be dispatched and aim to deliver in the same week as your contact date.

 

International Delivery

We can deliver our bed bases internationally. Please contact us for a quote and our current lead times. In order to provide a delivery price we will need the following information:
– a delivery address
– the size of bed base you are interested in,
– the bed model
– your preferred timber

It is not possible for us to ship our mattresses out of the country – they are too susceptible to damage in transit. Certain pieces from the Black Lotus and Ethnicraft ranges exceed the maximum weight limits for our delivery company; this will be mentioned on the product page if applicable.

If you are a customer based in Europe then the price you pay for the bed base would be the price you see listed on our website; this includes VAT. British VAT is currently set at 20%. If you prefer to pay your local rate of sales tax – let us know – we can refund the VAT on receipt of proof that your order has left the UK. In this case however you will then be required to pay your local rate of sales tax.

If you live outside Europe VAT will be removed from the cost of the bed and from the shipping cost. When we provide your quote we will include VAT where relevant, or remove VAT if you are exempt from paying British VAT.

NB: Our carriers provide proof that the goods have been exported so we are able not to charge VAT, however – if you use your own carriers – we are required to charge VAT, but this will be refunded when you/your carriers provide us with proof of export. In this case you may then be required to pay your local rate of sales tax and any other relevant taxes (import duties etc).

 

Bedding / Loungewear / Homeware Delivery etc.

All our bedding, homewares, toiletries etc are priced to include delivery within the mainland UK – there are no further delivery charges for this area. If you would like us to quote for delivery outside the mainland UK please let us know – we are happy to do so.

Small parcels under 2kg such as small throws and our range of kimonos are sent with Royal Mail on a first class service. Parcels over 2kg such as larger throws and bedspreads will be sent with MyHermes, with an expected transit time of up to 5 days from the date the order is placed.

High value items, bulkier home-ware and large, multiple piece orders are sent via DPD Local. This is an overnight service with delivery taking place the next working day after the order is collected. You will receive a text message to arrange a 1 hour time-slot for your delivery.
