Our beautiful Black Orchid is the ultimate, contemporary 4Â poster bed. The Black Orchid is made of solid oak and stained in opaque black lacquer. The black finish is almost matte, with a soft, subtle sheen to show off the natural grain of the oak.

The Orchid is our staple 4-poster design. The inspiration behind many of our other 4-poster designs, in fact! All our wooden beds are fitted with sprung beech slats for extra comfort and to increase the life of your mattress you will also be supplied with non-slip matting to keep your mattress in place. They’re also delivered flat packed for self-assembly, so getting your 4-poster upstairs shouldn’t be a worry. Please find the link to our assembly instructions here.

Lacquer Finish: As standard, we use our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity. However, the black stain used on this oak bed creates a very opaque finish, whilst still allowing the texture of the grain to show through. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains. You can also order the Orchid in our full range of hardwood timbers here.

Outside of the Sheffield area, we use a carrier. Delivery is arranged with the carrier once your order is ready, and will be on an agreed day and time slot.
Within the Sheffield area, we deliver using our own vehicle. Once your order is ready to be delivered, we will contact you to arrange a delivery date and time slot.

We have a small workshop in Sheffield where all of our beds and the furniture made by us are hand crafted by our skilled woodworkers.

Yes! Most of our handmade items can be tweaked with a variety of customisations. Please get in touch with our friendly sales team with your idea and we’ll let you know what is possible and provide a bespoke quote.
All of our bed bases are delivered flat pack for easy self assembly - we include our full range of assembly instructions online so you can see how straight forward this is! All of our tables are delivered as one piece, so no assembly would be required. Our under-bed drawers simply require the small castors screwing into place.
Our showroom is based in Sheffield city centre. We try to keep a variety of designs and timber son display, but if you’re hoping to see something specific, please do get in touch before your visit.
