Endlessly versatile and quick-drying, the traditional Turkish peshtemal is affectionately called a ‘towel’, but would be just as at home as a scarf, wrap or throw. A collection of matching peshtemals and hand towels, made using pure cotton and available in two colours. These items are made using traditional processes, and as such, colours and sizes can vary. Please see descriptions below of the colours and sizing for more information.
A traditional Turkish garment, peshtemals are made using traditional loom techniques. Crafted using 100% cotton, these garments are lightweight, absorbent and quick drying. An endlessly versatile product! Although affectionately named a throw, it is just as at home as a scarf, wrap, sarong or even a towel! Matching hand towels are also available on this page. Finished to two ends with tied-off tassels, each throw features a woven grid pattern and a gently textured feel.
Materials: 100% OEKO TEX certified non-GMO cotton

Lichen: a pale, neutral shade with a slight cream cast and naturally-occurring flecks throughout. Olive: a muted, cool shade of olive green with a slight khaki cast and lighter areas throughout.
Please note, these garments are traditionally made on vintage automatic looms. They are also garment dyed and stone washed which creates a unique patina and can lead to areas of variation in the colour, particularly in the Olive option. Please see photos for details. The traditional process can also cause some variation in size, so we have tried to provide approximate dimensions, but we have seen variations of at least 5cm either way of the dimensions provided. Such variations in size would not be classed as faulty.
– Suitable for machine washing at 30 degrees – Iron on a medium heat if needed – Do not bleach, tumble-dry or dry clean
