Here at Natural Bed Company, we always do everything we can to ensure that delivery of any product you order from us runs as smoothly as possible. Whether it is a bed, mattress or items from our extensive range of bedding. We deliver locally, nationally and also internationally, using a range of delivery services. To give an overview of how our delivery processes work, I’ll take a look at each of the options we offer.
For bed and mattress orders placed in the Sheffield area, we tend to deliver ourselves. Any goods will also be taken to the room of your choice. And for a £25 surcharge, unpacked and assembled. In addition, all packing materials will be taken away. Deliveries can be arranged Monday-Friday with a 2 hour time-slot between 10am and 5pm. If required, we can call when we are 30 minutes away.
For all national hardwood bed orders we use a carrier company called Domestic Distribution. In the same way as our local deliveries, the carriers will take all goods to the room of your choice. A 4 hour time-slot is arranged in advance. This is done with the carriers directly. They will call to arrange delivery when your goods have been collected from our workshop. We have weekly collections every Monday, and deliveries for non-remote areas will take place in the following 5-7 working days. Please note, this is extended to 14 days for some postcode areas. We will inform you of this when an order is placed.
Domestic Distribution will offer the first delivery slot available in your postcode area. However, if you require delivery on a specific date or on a Saturday, we can arrange this for a surcharge. If you require delivery on a Saturday, the carriers would add a £35 charge, or for a specific date mid-week, it is £30. We can request that the bed is assembled on delivery; however, this would add £50 to the overall cost of your order with us (prices inc. VAT).
Any extra delivery services will be charged by us – you will not be asked to pay the delivery company directly.
For deliveries of our vacuum-packed mattresses and futons, we use an overnight, delivery to door only service. Delivery is to the main entrance of the property only. However, if you feel that you would have difficulty moving a large item by yourself, let us know and we will look into a room-of-choice delivery for you. As standard, this service operates with an all day – 8am-6pm- time-slot, Monday-Friday. A Saturday delivery can also be requested and would incur a £25 surcharge. If you cannot be at home all day, we can specify an AM (8am-1pm) time-slot at £15.
Furthermore, our range of sprung mattresses – the Craft Medium and Firm and the Vitalwood Aspiro – are delivered directly by the manufacturer. Due to the weight of the mattresses, these are delivered on a 2 man room of choice service. Depending on the postcode area, this can also add up to two weeks to the lead time.
For the Ethnicraft range of furniture, a delivery charge is applicable for national deliveries. This is shown on each product page. Although, if you were to order multiple items, we would look into reducing the overall shipping cost. For example, i an oak bed with a pair of Ethnicraft bedside tables or a chest of drawers. All national Ethnicraft deliveries would be sent via Domestic Distribution using the same service mentioned earlier for bed orders.
