The Bamford bed is a contemporary, chunky, solid wood bed with a tall headboard. Its minimal, modern style makes it easy to style to your taste. The generous headboard shows off the beauty of natural hardwood timber and allows you to pile up your pillows with abandon!

Based on our popular Tibet design, the Bamford is a chunky, solid wood bed with the same simple, modern frame. However, it boasts a much taller headboard than the Tibet. The Bamford is a solid, modern bed design. Bold enough to make real impact and show off any of the timbers chosen.
You can order the Bamford in your choice of size and hardwood timber. In our photographs above, it is pictured in solid ash, maple and walnut. Take a look at our timbers page for more information and to order timber samples.

Each solid wood bed comes with sprung beech slats for extra comfort and to increase the life of your mattress. We also supply non-slip matting to help keep your mattress in place.
Every bed is made to order. Our lead-time is usually around 8 weeks (+ delivery). This can fluctuate throughout the year, please do get in touch for the most up to date information.
Our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity, allows you to appreciate the myriad colours and subtle variations in tone of natural timber. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.

If you have a much deeper mattress than this, we can customise the design by adding to height of the headboard legs and raising the position of the headboard panel. This customisation may incur an additional cost depending on the adjustment required, which varies depending on the size and timber. If you wish to add this customisation to the headboard panel, please use the 'ask us more' tab above to request a quote before proceeding with an order.

All of our prices listed include delivery within the mainland UK.Â
Lead in times: our bed bases (and a select few furniture items) are hand made to order in our Sheffield workshop. The lead in time is usually 8 weeks (+ delivery), which can fluctuate throughout the year – get in touch for the latest info. Please note that ex-display/stock beds, sofa beds, mattresses and some Ethnicraft furniture have differing lead in times, which you will find noted in the description above.
Outside of the Sheffield area, we use a national carrier called BJS. You will be provided an estimated despatch date shortly after your order is placed, and the courier will be in touch with you directly to arrange the delivery date and time slot after they have collected your order.
For customers based in Sheffield, we usually perform delivery in our own vehicle. However, some items are excluded and will instead be shipped with our standard courier, BJS.

We despatch all of our small items via Royal Mail or ParcelForce. Prices include delivery to mainland UK with an aim to deliver within 3-5 working days.
You can opt for an expedited service, if you would prefer. You can select this option for an additional cost at checkout, which then aims to deliver within 1-2 working days.
Please note, we process and pack orders Monday-Saturday between 10am-5pm, excluding bank holidays. We aim to process orders as soon as possible, with collection booked to occur the day after processing.

We have a small workshop in Sheffield where all of our beds and the furniture made by us are hand crafted by our skilled woodworkers.

Yes! Most of our handmade items can be tweaked with a variety of customisations. Please get in touch with our friendly sales team with your idea and we’ll let you know what is possible and provide a bespoke quote.
All of our bed bases are delivered flat pack for easy self assembly - we include our full range of assembly instructions online so you can see how straight forward this is! All of our tables are delivered as one piece, so no assembly would be required. Our under-bed drawers simply require the small castors screwing into place.
Our showroom is based in Sheffield city centre. We try to keep a variety of designs and timber son display, but if you’re hoping to see something specific, please do get in touch before your visit.
