With its bold, linear shape, the Tibet contemporary solid wood bed is a favourite in our showroom. The Tibet is the highest bed in the design family of modern wooden beds that includes the Nevada, Sahara and Malabar beds. The Tibet is pictured here in solid walnut, maple and oak (with a footboard).
It is not available as standard with a footboard, but we can make this upon request. Please find further details in the text below. The Tibet bed looks good in all timbers, but for something special you can include a band of Cherry or Walnut in a Maple headboard (see the later detail photos). Please contact us for prices.
The Tibet solid wood bed base offers our classic, minimal design in a taller height. The same clean lines as our Malabar and Sahara bed bases, the Tibet is 8cm taller to the bed slats, and features bolder, chunkier leg sections. We can also make this bed base with a footboard. Please see photos above for an example of this. Please contact us for a custom quote if interested in ordering this bed with a footboard.
All our wooden beds come with sprung beech slats as standard; for extra comfort and to increase the life of the mattress. We also supply non-slip matting to keep your mattress in place.
Every bed is made to order. Our current lead-time is currently around 6 – 8 weeks (+ delivery).
Our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity, allows you to appreciate the myriad colours and subtle variations in tone of natural timber. It also retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.

Please note: ‘Clear Pine’ is finished in our standard, natural-look lacquer. ‘Sanded Pine’ does not have any lacquer/finish at all. They do not look any different from one another, but the ‘sanded’ option does feel slightly rougher to the touch.

Having spent many months searching for a bed frame that would fit our bedroom I finally came across The Natural Bed Company. The Tibet bed caught my eye as the mattress sits on the frame rather than within it. The size was right and the colour sample in white wash Maple was just what I was after, so without having seen the actual bed it was ordered. The bed arrived on time and was extremely well packed, it didn’t take us long to put it together and we were very impressed with the quality and design. We decided on a tempur mattress, having spent more on the frame we splashed out and bought a good mattress….the result is perfection. We had high expectations for our first night’s sleep and we were not disappointed. The frame is perfect and has also created the feeling of space in our bedroom as it replaced a divan with under bed storage. It matches our furniture perfectly and the overall look is just as I hoped. I would definitely recommend this Company to anyone looking for a top quality bed and good service. Looking for a high quality, solid wood bed frame I was instantly captivated by the Tibet due to its simple beauty. I decided to go for cherry wood which gives this beautifully warm colour with an engaging grain texture. The headboard is simply stunning. I am very happy with the bed. The Natural Bed Company provides excellent craftsmanship. Assembly was very easy as well with all parts fitting each other perfectly. I also ordered the Cuba bed sofa with which I am equally happy. I would highly recommend this bed and the company.

We asked Natural Bed Company to make our new bed. The service received was excellent, we even had a slight adjustment factored in to the height of our headboard due to the thickness of our mattress and it was seamlessly taken care of. The delivery was as arranged and the packaging was excellent as you would want for such a product. The quality of the bed is exceptional and the finish is to a very high standard. It is really robust and assembly is pretty straight forward too. We went for drawers on rollers and these too are of excellent quality. I appreciate the costs are a bit higher then other bed options but it is genuinely one of the nicest beds we have seen let alone owned. 10/10 for service and quality. If you can stretch your budget i would highly recommend a hand made high quality bed through Natural Bed Company.

Good quality, well made, solid wood beds. Well packaged for shipping abroad. It was a pleasant surprise to find that the bed slats were included as this isn’t always the case so this really made the beds affordable and good value for money. The beds couldn’t have been any easier to assemble. The whole process from ordering to delivery was simple and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend the company and the product and I would use the company again.

It is a delight to have such a beautiful piece of furniture in the house. The wood looks and feels lovely and the craftsmanship is excellent and although the bed needs two people to assemble it, assembly was very easy. We chose the optimal support mattress which was comfortable from the outset – but has actually just become more and more comfortable every night we sleep in it. In addition, as there are no springs, any movement from another person in the bed if they get up in the night etc isn’t a problem either: there’s zero disturbance. We couldn’t really be happier with our purchase. And one last thing to mention is the quality of service in terms of delivery was exceptional. The delivery people were so polite, everything was carried upstairs, unpacked and then the packaging all removed and carried away. We are very happy.

Delighted with the bed. A beautiful piece of furniture which goes perfectly with the other bedroom furniture. The ordering process was straightforward, and impressed that, unlike some multinationals, only a 10% deposit was requested. The delivery timescale was met, and the delivery crew were excellent. They phoned ahead and brought the packages upstairs. Overall an optimum experience. Sleep-wise, I’d bought an Eve mattress in readiness, and the slatted frame has made it a worthwhile purchase. Would highly recommend the company and the product.
