We are always happy to hear from our customers. This blog just runs through a few frequently-asked-questions regarding ordering a bed from Natural Bed Company. If you have any questions around the following, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver free of charge to mainland UK. In addition, we also arrange delivery much further afield, including many countries in Europe and worldwide.

In order for us to provide a quote for international deliveries we will need the following information from you:

  • which item/s you are interested in (including size, style, quantity and, when appropriate, timber choice)
  • your full delivery address (and delivery instructions where appropriate e.g. deliver to port)

To place an order for non-mainland UK delivery, please contact us.

At this time, we are not shipping our smaller items overseas. This is due to current restrictions on postage following Brexit in the UK. If you are interested in beds or furniture, please feel free to get in touch with us for further information on shipping.

Are they flat packed?

All our bed-bases are flat packed to aid delivery and easy access to your home. Our beds have been designed for easy self assembly, and clear instructions are supplied. Also, approximate assembly times are indicated on the web site. Most of our mattresses are vacuum packed, rolled and packed into a box for very easy handling. Once unpacked they open out to full size, they will be fully expanded after a few days.

Are your beds made from solid timber?

Yes, we don’t use veneered materials, only solid wood. When ordering a painted bed, it is only the headboard panel that may be in MDF. As wood is a natural material, large panels can swell very slightly, and this could result in cracks to a painted finish. MDF is used as an alternative in this case. We will always specify where this applies.

How do I order?

When ordering a bed from Natural Bed Company, you can order on-line or by email, phone, or in person at our showroom in Sheffield. Payment can be made in full online using a credit or debit card, alternatively you can pay the deposit and balance with your card details over the phone or by bank transfer.

Can I wait to view the goods before my final payment?

We require full payment before the goods are despatched; please see our returns policy for further information. If you would like to view any of our bed bases before you make your decision, you can visit our Sheffield showroom. Alternatively, if this isn’t possible, we can send additional photographs where available.

What happens if the goods are damaged on arrival?

This is very unlikely, but if there is obvious damage you should refuse to accept the damaged package and ask the carrier to return it to us.

Even if the packaging appears to be in good condition we would ask you to unpack and inspect the delivery and report any damage within three days. (I’m afraid we cannot accept any claims for transit damage after that time).
We will then ensure that you receive your replacement order as soon as possible, or offer you a full refund if you prefer.

How long will my order take?

When you place the order we’ll give you an approximate lead time (how long it will take for your order to be completed). Then, when your order is ready, we’ll contact you regarding your delivery.

Lead times can depend on the order. Some of our smaller items of furniture have a shorter lead time than our bed bases, but we’d recommend getting in touch with us for accurate lead times. Some items are held in stock and may be available more quickly. You can always contact us and let us know what you’d like to order!

We are currently working to an extended lead time of around 18-20 weeks. This is due to a long queue of orders and the lead time is the same regardless of design, size or timber. Please contact us if you would like any further information.

Can it be quicker?

We offer hundreds of different options and, mostly, we make to order. There’s a small chance we may have what you want in stock so let us know what you’re looking for.

Should I come to the shop?

We get visitors from all over the UK every week; you’ll be able to take your time trying the mattresses and you’ll see a wide variety of bed models. There’s also a range of lighting, coffee tables, accessories and gifts for you to see and we’ll be happy to help and advise you face to face.

We are no longer taking appointments following the pandemic. The shop is open as normal, but we ask that you follow the most up-to-date government guidelines.

Can you make a bespoke design for me?

Although we are able to customise many of our designs, we do not generally make bespoke furniture – although it may be possible depending on your requirements. We also work closely with other local cabinet makers who may be able to make a bespoke piece for you.

  1. we are interested in a super king nevada bed but currently have a good super king matress that doesn’t need replacing. do you forsee and issues regarding us using this mattress?
