I know it might seem a little early to be writing a Christmas blog in early October, but now really is the time to decide on a bed and place an order if you want to guarantee delivery before the big day.
New Beds & Sofa-BedsWe are currently working to a 6 week lead time for both our pine and hardwood bed bases. We usually use a two man carrier service and this delivery company aim to deliver within 5-7 working days of the goods being collected from our Sheffield workshop. When you add that week to our lead time, Christmas suddenly doesn’t seem that far away!
We book weekly collections with our delivery company, with each batch of orders collected every Monday. Looking ahead, we would anticipate that our last Monday collection before Christmas (for guaranteed pre-Christmas delivery) would occur on Monday 12th December. This may seem a little early, but it can take two days for the goods to be sorted to the appropriate warehouse and loaded for delivery – this could possibly only leave slots on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the lead up to the Christmas weekend. We want to ensure that no customer is left disappointed and without a bed for the festive period, so its best to play it safe in this case.
For customers outside of the Sheffield area – I would advise placing your bed order by Monday 7th November to guarantee pre-Christmas delivery. For local customers (within an hour’s drive of our workshop) an extra week can be added – Monday 14th November is the date to work to here – this is because we complete these deliveries in-house. If you require your bed in time for Christmas but cannot order in time to meet the cut-off dates and have a suitable car or van, collection from our workshop is also possible. Please just call us to arrange this option.
If you decide on a bed but do not require delivery before Christmas Eve please be aware that no deliveries can take place from the 24th December to the first week in January – which will add a little to our usual lead-time. (When you place your order with us – we will give you an estimate of the date we expect to have made your bed for. NB: this is not the expected delivery date).
MattressesFor our futon mattresses, always popular at this time of year, we have a much shorter production time – usually 3 weeks. Futons can safely be sent on a 1 man, overnight service and as a result, we can arrange deliveries up to Wednesday 21st December, so any order received by 1st December will be despatched for a pre-Christmas delivery.
It’s a similar story for anyone just interested in our range of foam and latex mattresses, again, a 3 week manufacturing time is the most you should expect, while more popular sizes and models are kept in stock. The same overnight delivery service would be used.
Bedding & GiftsWe generally keep stock numbers of smaller items on our website indicating that we have the item in stock. Where a product is in stock we can generally get it to you within a week. We would suggest a pre-Christmas cut off date of Saturday 17th December – just to be on the safe side!

National 2 man, room of choice delivery: Pine bed bases in larger sizes (135x190cm and above, with headboards), Hardwood beds and larger bed frames such as the Tibet Bed, Cochin Classic Bed, Zanskar, larger sofa beds such as the Cuba and Panama and all four posters.
National 1 man, to door only delivery: Pine beds (in smaller sizes- 75×190, 90×190 and 120x190cm, without headboards), simpler sofa beds such as the Tokyo and Fiji, futon and foam mattresses.
Local deliveries: All bed, sofa-bed, futon mattress and foam mattress deliveries in Sheffield and the surrounding area.
International deliveries: Please contact us via e-mail to get a quote for delivery outside the mainland UK and for an estimate of the delivery time.
