Here we’ll celebrate the coming of Autumn with some inspiring Autumn bedroom looks. It’s the perfect time to make the most of layers of light bedding – for flexibility – to take you through the Autumnal mix of warmer and cooler nights. We’ll also take a look at various colour themes perfect for this season.

Warm Autumn Tones

The timbers most popular for Autumn bedrooms are oak, cherry and walnut. Oak has a bold grain and rich, golden tone, cherry and walnut timber has a vibrant grain and a variety of tones – cherry overall has a soft ‘reddish’ shade and walnut a rich chocolate colour. These timbers complement our warm Autumn bedding in rich, cosy colours.

The classic colours of Autumn are inspired by the changing of the leaves from green to gold, copper and russet brown. We have a range of bedding to suit this colour palette.
As we still have a few warm evening this time of year you may not want to change your summer duvet for a winter weight just yet, instead add a quilted bedspread or a cosy wool throw on colder nights. You can still update your duvet with a change of duvet cover though – take a look at our Coral Linen Bedding and Pha Tung silk duvet cover in ‘Flame’ for rich and luxurious Autumnal bedding. For a more low-key look try the Kalamkari Gold or Red Madras patchwork duvet covers in soft cotton. The Zari Russet duvet cover falls in-between – a combination of fine cotton and rich gold embroidered details.
Complement the rich colours of the duvet covers with soft neutral bedspreads and throws – such as our ‘natural look’ faux fur throws and luxurious Alpaca blankets. Alternatively reverse the scheme with our cream and black Ikat duvet cover and the bold, salmon coloured Shanti bedspread.

Keeping to the aim of creating a restful bedroom space we’ve dressed these beds with a range of soft, luxurious and neutral coloured bedding. Here we have images of our Shetland bed – available in a range of combinations of timber, finish and fabric – and the Arran bed with an upholstered and buttoned headboard panel.

The Shetland bed can be seen above in 3 variations: solid oak with a plain wool fabric headboard panel, in solid oak with a patterned, floral fabric covered panel, and with the same fabric for the upholstery but with a black stained oak bed frame. The joy of the Shetland is that there are so many options – the frame is available in any of our hardwoods and in a variety of finishes – while the headboard panel can be upholstered in the plain wool Tailor fabric (in a range of neutral shades), in the floral Monance fabric (again in a range of colour ways) or in the customer’s own material (if you want to use your own fabric please get in touch with us to ensure it meets the necessary requirements.)

The Arran has a simple hardwood frame – similar to our Sahara bed – with a beautifully buttoned headboard. We offer this bed again in our full range of hardwoods with the Tailor fabric on the headboard (we’ve used Tailor Wolf on the bed above). Again C.O.M is possible if the fabric meets requirements.

Simple, neutral bedding has been chosen for the upholstered beds above – washed linen bedding in dove grey or charcoal with soft neutral quilts and throws. The Chevron bedspread is a good choice for a contemporary style room, for a more traditional scheme try the Classic Quilted Bedspreads. Add some texture with our velvet look Soft & Cosy Throws or our knitted Multi-spot Blankets.
