Although it feels like Autumn is just getting started, it is less that 100 days until Christmas Day! If you would like to wake up in a new Natural Bed Company bed base on Christmas morning, it is time to start thinking about it now! In this blog, I’ll take you through our expected delivery times for the festive period and the key dates you need to keep in mind.
We are currently working to an approximate 10 week lead time for our range of handmade wooden bed bases. Our national courier service, Domestic Distribution, make collections from our workshop every Monday, the last of which they can guarantee pre-Christmas delivery is Monday the 12th of December. With this in mind, I would recommend placing your bed order by Friday the 30th of September. Depending on how many orders are placed in this time frame, we may be able to offer pre-christmas delivery to a few extra customers after this date. But we would not be able to promise that!
For deliveries around the festive period, we would recommend accepting the first date you are offered by our carriers whenever possible. It can take up to a week to re-arrange a time-slot which may result in a delivery in the new year.
The couriers also require two contact numbers for orders despatched for delivery prior to Christmas 2022. If they cannot reach you on one number provided to book in a delivery slot, you may lose your chance to book in delivery in this busy season. A back up number (either a work number, a partners number or your home number) can be a great help!
If you place an order with us after the cut-off dates mentioned above, please be aware that Domestic Distribution does close down over Christmas and New Years Eve. There will be no deliveries taking place from Christmas Eve to the first week of January. This can add up to a week on to our usual lead time.
Please note: all dates mentioned above are estimates based on the average number of orders received in previous years and the limits of our production schedule. If we receive a higher volume of orders than expected, this will affect our cut off dates, bringing them forward. To be on the safe side, if you want your beautiful new bed for Christmas 2022 – please consider ordering soon!
Unfortunately, it is not possible to guarantee a pre-christmas cut off point for international bed orders. Shipping times vary drastically depending on location and customs procedures. The festive time of year is also especially busy, meaning some services may be delayed. This is entirely out of our control, our sincere apologies that we cannot be more helpful here.
Of course, full tracking is always provided for bed bases shipped overseas, so you will still have an accurate idea as to when to expect delivery for your order!
We stock mattresses made by a few different suppliers with a variety of production lead times. Our Foam and Latex mattresses tend to have slightly shorter lead times. A selection of our foam mattresses are, unfortunately, being discontinued. Only the remaining stock shown on the product is available until they sell out! We can get these despatched relatively quickly on the next courier collection, so you can order these up until early December (stock levels depending).
The Eco Core range and the Memory foam mattress have a fairly short lead time of around 2-3 weeks, so I’d recommend ordering by the beginning of November.
Our sprung mattresses have a slightly longer lead times. The Organic range have a lead time of around 4-6 weeks. The Weldbank and Westgate models have a lead time of around 6-8 weeks. If your order is placed by early October, we should get this delivered to us in time for despatch on the 12th of December!
We send most smaller items out with Royal Mail on a tracked and signed for service, so you can be sure that your order is in good hands! We may send certain items with a different courier such as Parcelforce or DPD Local. This depends on size, value and requests from customers. You’ll see an option at checkout for the guaranteed faster despatch and delivery service!The cut off for all postal pre-Christmas deliveries this year is Wednesday the 21st of December. Orders will need to be placed by 5:30pm on Monday the 19th of December in order to be picked up in time.
