The Malabar bed base is our classic design, available to order here in a black stained oak. It is pictured above with our Tibet side table in oak with matching black finish. This black oak bed features an opaque lacquer which allows the strong texture of the oak grain to shine through. Please contact us if you would like a sample of the black stained oak (subject to availability). You can also order the Malabar in our full range of hardwoods (including the standard oak finish) here.
Every bed is made to order. Our lead-time is usually around 8 weeks (+ delivery). This can fluctuate throughout the year, please do get in touch for the most up to date information.
As standard, we use our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity. However, the black stain used on this oak bed creates a very opaque finish, whilst still allowing the texture of the grain to show through. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.
All our wooden beds are fitted as standard with sprung beech slats for extra comfort, and to also help increase the life of your mattress.

If you have a much deeper mattress than this, we can customise the design by adding to height of the headboard legs and raising the position of the headboard panel. This customisation may incur an additional cost depending on the adjustment required, which varies depending on the size and timber. If you wish to add this customisation to the headboard panel, please use the 'ask us more' tab above to request a quote before proceeding with an order.

Outside of the Sheffield area, we use a carrier. Delivery is arranged with the carrier once your order is ready, and will be on an agreed day and time slot.
Within the Sheffield area, we deliver using our own vehicle. Once your order is ready to be delivered, we will contact you to arrange a delivery date and time slot.

We have a small workshop in Sheffield where all of our beds and the furniture made by us are hand crafted by our skilled woodworkers.

Yes! Most of our handmade items can be tweaked with a variety of customisations. Please get in touch with our friendly sales team with your idea and we’ll let you know what is possible and provide a bespoke quote.
All of our bed bases are delivered flat pack for easy self assembly - we include our full range of assembly instructions online so you can see how straight forward this is! All of our tables are delivered as one piece, so no assembly would be required. Our under-bed drawers simply require the small castors screwing into place.
Our showroom is based in Sheffield city centre. We try to keep a variety of designs and timber son display, but if you’re hoping to see something specific, please do get in touch before your visit.
