Product Description

About The Kapok Filled Duvet:

This Organic duvet has a pure plant fibre filling – half kapok, half cotton. It has a fluffy and silky feel similar to feathers.

– Suitable for all-year use.
– The duvet features a ‘mummy-style’ quilting pattern, wider at the top and narrowing at the feet, which gives the duvet more drape so it can better ‘envelop’ the sleeper and keep out draughts.
– The duvets are equipped with cotton ties to the corners which allow them to be combined with other duvets for extra weight and warmth as the seasons change.
– Approximately 8-9 togs (approx. 500 gsm)

Sizes: approx.
Double – 200 x 200 cm (79″ x 79″)
King – 225 x 220 cm (88″ x 86″)
Super king – 260 x 220 cm (102″x 86″)
Please note the duvets are cut generously as there can be an initial shrinkage after the first few weeks of use. This is due to the heat and moisture generated during sleep causing the duvet to contract slightly.

About Kapok: Kapok grows wild in tropical forests and without the need for pesticides. Also known as ‘plant-down’, due to its silky, fly-away quality, it is a cotton-like, fluffy fibre obtained from the seed pods of the Ceiba Pentandra tree. Kapok is a hollow fibre with great warmth retention capacity. Harvesting Kapok from the trees is vital for the local economies where they exist and therefore they are not felled, helping to preserve tropical forests. Kapok fibres contain naturally occurring bitter-compounds which are unattractive to dust mites and other creepy crawlies. The fibres are naturally coated with a type of wax which means that no moisture is retained or absorbed and therefore helps your duvet to stay dry.

Care Instructions:
Ideally air the duvet frequently and expose it to sunlight when possible. Stains should be spot-cleaned.
If you need to wash your duvet: please refer to the washing instructions on the label.
Do not tumble dry.
Duvets need to be pulled back into shape before drying and should be dried flat.
NB: The filling is untreated and some of the vegetable residue within the cotton may discolour the cover after it has become wet.
Dry-cleaning: it is possible to dry-clean this duvet.
