What is the difference between the Tibet and the Malabar? They are both contemporary, solid wood beds and at first sight they look similar, but the Tibet is 8cm higher (to the slats) and has chunkier legs; while the Malabar bed has a taller headboard panel. For a version of the Tibet with a footboard take a look at the detail phot0 – this bed was made to order for a customer. For an indication of the price of a Tibet with a footboard – add approximately 15% to the standard bed price. It is also possible to order the Tibet without a headboard, for this price please deduct approximately 15% from the standard price. You can order either option by phone on 0114 272 1984 during office hours.
If you love the proportions and style of the Tibet, but would like to add a splash of colour to your room, take a look at the Tao bed with a painted headboard. The Tibet and Tao are modern classics and work well in a variety of settings. Our ‘natural’ lacquer finish, named for its clarity, allows you to appreciate the myriad colours and subtle variations in tone of natural timber. It retains a subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.
We introduced our natural lacquer finish 3 years ago. It is still possible to order your furniture with the original ‘clear’ finish used previously- please call us to discuss your options when matching new Natural Bed Company furniture to older pieces.
