At Natural Bed Company we pride ourselves on only using natural timber to make our bed frames, just hardwood and pine, never veneers. Our new ‘natural’ lacquer preserves the true tones of the timber, making every bed unique. Our beds are hand-made to order in our Sheffield workshop, using only timber that is sustainably sourced.

This commitment to offering the finest natural products extends across our range and in this blog I’ll take a closer look at some standout examples.

We are often asked about providing a mattress free of fire retardant chemicals, foam and other man-made products – the Organic Latex Mattress fits the bill perfectly. Made of a core of natural latex wrapped in wool, and with an organic cotton cover, this mattress is the perfect choice if you wish to steer clear of man-made fibres. The Organic Latex is made to order by British company on their farm in Devon; we currently expect a manufacturing lead time of 4-6 weeks, but this luxury mattress is definitely worth the wait!

Our range of 100% linen bedding is the perfect choice to pair with the Organic Latex. We have duvet covers, fitted and flat sheets available in white, duck egg, charcoal and dove grey, which should offer enough choice to fit in with most bedroom colour schemes. The linen is naturally hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial, ideal if you suffer from dust-mite or other allergies.

If you would prefer a lighter cover, take a look at our range of pure cotton sheets and duvet covers, in 200, 600 and – if you want an extra luxurious feeling – 1000 thread counts. As with the linen bedding, the 100% cotton options are available in a variety of colours to suit any room; the deep platinum grey in the 1000 thread count is a particular favourite of mine. We also offer a collection of organic cotton bedding and beautiful organic cotton throws, ideal if you are pursuing an organic lifestyle.

Don’t forget our wool filled duvets and pillows when shopping for natural and organic bedding, with 100% cotton covers and filled with unbleached, untreated wool. As well as acting as a natural insulator, wool is also a breathable material, allowing the body to regulate temperature easily to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

If you would like to add a throw, our range from British company Bronte offer a wide range of excellent options in Merino, Shetland and Lambswool varieties, plus the incredibly soft Alpaca. Available in array of designs, from vibrant patchworks and spots designs to the new, more muted Kilnsey range in teal and burgundy, you’re sure to find a favourite.

All of the products mentioned above are available to view in more detail on our website and we have the full range of Bronte throws, linen and cotton bedding on sale in our Sheffield store. If you are interested in the Organic Latex and would like to view it before purchase, we currently have a king size example on display.
