Striking and elegant, the Portland features a curved headboard and platform. It is available in all of our hardwoods, and is shown pictured here in oak. The low, platform design is popular for loft bedrooms or large, open plan layouts.

Inspired by our Oregon bed base, this low platform bed features a soft, curved design compared to its counterpart. The Portland boasts a sophisticated yet striking look, making it a real statement piece for your bedroom!
How is the Portland different from the Oregon platform bed? The Portland has a slightly slimmer platform resulting in a slightly smaller foot-print. The headboard is upright on the Portland, it reclines a little on the Oregon. Almost all of the edges are rounded on the Portland design for a softer look.

As standard, we use our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity. However, the black stain used on this oak bed creates a very opaque finish, whilst still allowing the texture of the grain to show through. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.
All our wooden beds are fitted as standard with sprung beech slats for extra comfort, and to help increase the life of your mattress.

Mattress Depth Information: This bed bases is photographed with a mattress of around 25cm in depth. If your mattress is much deeper than this, please let us know. We can customise this bed by slightly adding to the headboard panel. When placing your order, please do let us know your mattress depth. We can then confirm if any alterations are required and any additional cost involved.

Outside of the Sheffield area, we use a carrier. Delivery is arranged with the carrier once your order is ready, and will be on an agreed day and time slot.
Within the Sheffield area, we deliver using our own vehicle. Once your order is ready to be delivered, we will contact you to arrange a delivery date and time slot.

Yes! Most of our handmade items can be tweaked with a variety of customisations. Please get in touch with our friendly sales team with your idea and we’ll let you know what is possible and provide a bespoke quote.
All of our bed bases are delivered flat pack for easy self assembly - we include our full range of assembly instructions online so you can see how straight forward this is! All of our tables are delivered as one piece, so no assembly would be required. Our under-bed drawers simply require the small castors screwing into place.
Our showroom is based in Sheffield city centre. We try to keep a variety of designs and timber son display, but if you’re hoping to see something specific, please do get in touch before your visit.
