Linen bedding is a great way to update your bedroom scheme. It not only offers a sense of luxury, but also, the natural, slightly crumpled look of linen bedding ensures a relaxed, informal feel. Here we will take a look at a range of different linen looks and colour schemes. From fresh summer styling to keep you cool – to cosy layers of bedding in winter. Just what you need to keep you or your guests toasty warm!

Linen bedding is a great choice any time of the year. It has natural heat-regulating qualities, which makes it feel pleasantly cool on a hot day and warm on cooler nights. Ideal for our variable British weather! Just add the right tog duvet and complete the look with bedspread or throw to suit on the style you want to achieve. Blue Linen – Perfect for a Scandinavian Inspired springtime look

Th duck-egg blue colour is the latest addition to our range of luxury linen pillowcases and duvet covers. We like to pair it with fresh white linen fitted sheets or our 1000 thread count bedding for a contrasting texture. The duck-egg blue looks fantastic with our Malabar, Sahara and Nevada beds in solid oak or walnut. The subtle warm blue and the deep biscuit shade of solid oak, or the the rich chocolate brown of walnut, makes for a stunning, contemporary combination.

The simple lines of these beds keeps the look fresh and modern. Plain white walls and a bold, graphic printed bedspread will ensure a feel of Nordic cool. For a more  romantic, ‘vintage’ take on this look we have dressed our Shetland bed with duck-egg blue linen. Topped with a Multi-block Throw that incorporates various shades of blue. The Shetland is pictured here in solid oak; the headboard panel upholstered in Monance fabric.

Looking for a bolder, brighter colour? Take a look at our Isobel range of linen duvet covers and pillowcases in a deep cornflower blue. This range of linen bedding has a ruffle detail, resulting in a romantic yet relaxed look. A final extra layer in the form of a Broste Copenhagen textured throw gives the scheme a relaxed charm.

White Linen Bedding – Bright and Fresh for Summer

On bright sunny days and warm, balmy nights (we get those in the UK occasionally! Don’t we?) fresh white linen bedding is the ideal choice. Our white linen bedding looks fantastic with bright, bold colours for a modern ‘pop’ look. Try our multi-block or multi-spot throws made by Bronte.

Another perfect summer look is the ever-popular ‘coastal style‘. To create this look at home, select a pale wood bed and bedside tables. We would suggest maple or ash! Then add crisp white linen bedding paired with throws or light bedspreads, in shades of blue or aqua. We used a ‘kantha’ stitched bedspread in the images above. However, our Kadi Sky or Indigo Shanti quilts are good alternatives. Add a couple of accessories to complete the look – a nautical themed cushion cover or artwork. For the bedside table – take a glass hurricane lantern and part fill it with sand and decorative shells, then add a candle in white or blue.

Dove Grey Linen – A Neutral Autumn Scheme

Dove grey is a fabulous shade – a soft grey with depth, reminiscent of warm cement! It makes a great neutral back-drop for a wide variety of shades. From rich plum, terracotta or chocolate to pale, delicate neutral shades. A hint of an acid or mustard yellow will add a contemporary twist. The Sodala bedspread looks great with dove grey linen, for example. It also provides the prefect extra layer on those cooler autumn evenings. When you need extra warmth, but aren’t quite ready to change to your winter 13 tog duvet! The bright yellow stitching on the Sodala adds a little modern detail to the ivory and dove grey printed design. Draw attention to this detail with bright yellow cushion covers.

We have a range of soft wool throws that look wonderful with dove-grey. Take a look at our multi-block throws in mustard, brown and greys, alternatively try the modern check throw again in grey or mustard. For the ultimate luxury combination our super-soft alpaca throws also look wonderful with natural linen bedding and are available in a range of colour-ways.

Charcoal Linen Bedding – For a dramatic winter bedroom with a touch of gothic style

Charcoal is a good choice if you want a more dramatic look. We used it to dress our Shetland bed (shown below) in black stained solid oak, with the upholstered headboard panel covered in a large format, ‘vintage-look’ floral Monance fabric. This is a dreamy, softly feminine look with a touch gothic glamour – complete the look with a ‘velvet’ cosy blanket, warm and stylish – what more could you want?!

We have two shades of deep grey linen bedding – the slightly lilac tones of Lisbon Grey linen duvet covers and pillowcases, and the warm, deep grey charcoal range from the linen bedding range.
Charcoal, of either shade, will work with a wide variety of looks and is a favourite with our male customers looking for an informal, New York loft-style scheme. It can be used with our 1000 thread count bedding in platinum grey of our subtly masculine chambray bedding. For a cosy winter look add one of our faux fur throws and use a toasty down filled duvet with your charcoal linen duvet cover. Our chunky, low beds are perfect for loft-style looks – try the Ocean, Oregon or Ki.
