Here we’ll take a look at our collection of organic mattresses, bedding and home-wares. Perfect either if you’re looking for ecologically friendly products or are concerned about the chemicals used in standard mattresses…

The benefits of an organic latex mattress

Organic products are produced using materials created by traditional farming methods. These avoid the use of highly toxic fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides. This means you are able to choose products that are safer for you and your family – and which ultimately also benefit farmers.

The organic wool used in the production of the organic latex mattress is produced from sheep that are not exposed to harmful chemicals. These include such as synthetic hormones, and external and internal pesticides. Moreover, this can be beneficial to those sensitive to chemicals from synthetic fibres. Wool also has natural antibacterial properties, making it ideal for use in mattresses. Wool is also inherently fire retardant, so these organic mattresses contain no fire retardant chemicals.

The core of the mattress is natural latex. Natural latex is made from the sap of the Hevea Brasilensis (rubber tree). It is not only hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant, but also a natural alternative to memory foam.

Customers also love the fact that these mattresses are fully biodegradable – healthy for the user and the planet. To find out more about our organic mattresses take a look at our previous blog: About the organic latex mattress.

Organic cotton bedding

We have a full collection of bedding available in unbleached organic cotton. This includes pillow-cases, duvet covers, flat sheets and fitted sheets. This bedding collection is created using undyed and unbleached organic cotton. A durable, cream-coloured cotton that softens with use and washing. Alternatively, if you’re looking for something more luxurious, take a look at our Pha Tung duvet covers in cypress green, indigo or flame red. The Pha Tung collection is made using beautiful, fine organic silk. Woven on village handlooms from local silk and traditional dyes made from leaves and plants gathered in the local forests. This duvet cover also has a cotton backing.

We also offer a collection of stylish organic cotton throws available in three colour-ways. Choose from ivory & navy, ivory & beige or blush & charcoal. These organic cotton throws are made of 100% organic cotton. They’re also certified by the soil association and GOTS. GOTS is an ecology and social responsibility standard within the organic cotton trade.
