The perfect finishing touch for a cosy bedroom – Bronte wool throws

We have been pleased to stock a wide range of stylish Bronte wool throws for a number of years now. We never fail to be impressed by the quality of their collection of throws and cushions – both in design and manufacture. So we thought – as are moving from autumn to winter, the temperature begins to fall and we are all looking for that extra layer of warmth to keep us toasty in bed – now is the ideal time to take a look at the collection and suggest bedding to work with the range.

Bronte by Design make a wide range of throws in various materials. We stock their throws in luxurious Alpaca wool, soft Merino lambswool and Shetland wool.

First a little bit about Bronte…
Bronte operate from one of Britain’s last remaining vertical mills where they control the entire manufacturing process to convert raw wool into beautiful products  – including the initial design, dyeing, blending, carding, spinning, and weaving before finally finishing and despatching from their mill in Guiseley, West Yorkshire. The mill has been producing fine wools since 1837.

Bronte search the world for the best quality raw materials – the Merino Lambswool is predominantly from South Africa and the Shetland quality Pure New Wool is sourced from New Zealand.

About their beautiful wool throws…
In the luxury range of Alpaca throws we offer three options – two throws have a  large scale check pattern, the other a fine herringbone design. Alpaca fleece is a lustrous and silky-soft natural fiber. While similar to sheep’s wool, it is warmer, not at all prickly, and bears no lanolin, which makes it hypoallergenic. It’s so soft and luxurious it is perfect for blankets!

As you can see from the images above these throws are in soft, neutral colours – for a restful bedroom scheme we recommend using bedding with a similar palette. Our washed linen bedding in charcoal grey and dove grey is the ultimate luxury combination. We also offer a stylish range of Egyptian Cotton bedding and organic cotton bedding and neutral colours.

We have a wide range of merino lambswool throws in a range of designs – from contemporary multi-colour spot throws to subtle check patterns.

With throws that incorporate many of bright colours or have a bold pattern it’s wise to keep the bedding selection simple. Classic white cotton bedding is an easy choice (take a look at our 600 thread count bedding for example) or pick out one of the colours used within the throw to guide the colour choice of your bedding. We have used platinum grey 1000 thread count bedding with the multi-block lambswool throws to great effect. If you love colour take a look at our zari duvet covers in mango or teal and pick out those colours in our multi-coloured throws – such as the patchwork collection or the multi-spots designs. Lambswool is beautifully soft, so these throws work over the bed or to snuggle up under when on the sofa!

We also have a collection of Bronte throws made using Shetland quality pure new wool, these are a little lower in price and not quite as soft as the lambswool – but they are toasty warm and ideal as the final layer over the end of your bed.
