We could all do with a bit of extra storage space in our bedrooms but not everyone has the space for large chests of drawers or wide bedside tables. With that in mind, we have added a wide range of end of bed storage units to our range of wooden bedroom furniture, available in oak and walnut. We have a variety of designs and sizes on offer so you’re sure to find something to work in the space you have.
The Low Bedside Drawer unit from our Black Lotus collection is a versatile storage unit, as it can be used as both a bedside table and as an end of bed bench with drawer. The unit measures at 67.5cm wide, so when two are positioned side by side, they are 135cm – the same width as a double mattress. If positioned centrally they would not look out of place with either a king (150cm) or super-king (180x200cm) bed base too. Using two drawers together means that if you were to ever move to a larger bedroom, which could accommodate bedside tables, the Low Drawer Unit could still be used.
Alternatively, our End of Bed Drawer Unit (150cm wide) could also work with both king and super-king beds, providing storage with both a wide drawer and lower shelf. It is 35cm high so would work perfectly with the most popular beds in our range such as the Malabar and Tibet bases.
If you were looking for a more minimalist design, the Black Lotus benches, available in 75cm and 150cm widths would be an ideal choice. As with the Drawer Units mentioned above, simply pair two of the Small Benches together at the foot of a king-size (or above) bed base to create a useful storage space. As they are made from hardwood timbers, the benches can also be used to sit on, if you need somewhere to drink your coffee when still half asleep in the morning but don’t want to risk getting back in bed!
Moving on to our collection of Ethnicraft furniture, the Monolit Low Cupboard available in either natural or black stained oak, is comprised of a black metal frame and solid wood body. With one drawer and one flip-down door, this storage unit offers a large amount of storage space. At 42cm tall, the Monolit Low Cupboard is more suited to the taller beds in our range such as the Skye, Orchid and Shetland.
Part of their Nordic range, the Ethnicraft Low Storage unit can be ordered in both oak and walnut and, like the Monolit cupboard, has both a drawer and cupboard and floor level shelf – perfect for storing bedding, or shoes and slippers. At 120cm wide, this unit could be used with a threequarter (120cm wide ), double (135cm wide) or king (150cm wide) bed base. It is also possible to select a larger version with a width of 180cm if you have a super-king (180cm wide) bed base.
As we usually have stock of the Black Lotus range of furniture we can arrange for these pieces to be sent out quickly, normally with no more than a one-week lead time. For the Ethnicrft furniture, you may have to wait a little longer. It is possible that we would have to order items from the manufacturer and this can take up to 4 weeks. Each item mentioned here would be sent out on a 2-man room of choice delivery service – we would use the same delivery service for the storage units as we would for our bed bases.
