Now the weather is changing from grim and frosty to pleasantly warmer, but with occasional cold evenings, it’s a good time to swap your winter bedding for lighter, more flexible options. A lighter-weight duvet with a light bedspread and/or throw is the perfect combination to ensure that your are comfy and relaxed whatever the weather. In this blog we take a look at the latest additions to our bedding collection so you can update the look of your bedroom too – for a brighter, more summery look that will still keep you warm on cooler nights.
New Duvet Covers & Pillowcases
We have a range of lovely new duvet sets and separates perfect for spring. Fresh, light cotton bedding in a range of colours and patterns. My current favourite is our new duvet set in white with an ‘ombre’ style pattern of delicate green leaves. Pair it with a lighter weight duvet and fluffy pillows, such as our kapok filled pillows and kapok filled duvet or botanic vegan duvet.
Other new bedding collections include the stylish Art Deco print duvet sets in soft blush pink or cool silver grey. A classic yet contemporary print that will suit a range of interior design styles – made of fine, 230 thread count cotton sateen – it is soft on the skin, smooth to the touch. New Bedspreads
Lots of new bedspreads have been added to the collection so you are sure to find a style to suit. From pretty floral prints to modern quilts and faux fur options. A new favourite of mine is this mid tone teal-blue bedspread with a simple geometric embroidered “ribbon” pattern. It is relatively light-weight, drapes beautifully and will work with a wide range of bedding – including our classic Pyjama Stripe duvet sets shown here.
A light-weight bedspread over your duvet is a great way to add that extra layer of warmth you may need on cool nights. It’s also easily folded away when the evenings are balmy (so you can comfortably leave your winter weight duvet in storage). The only difficult bit is choosing the cover you like best! Looking for a classic or county-cottage look? Then we have embroidered bedspreads with vintage look floral prints perfect for this style. If you prefer a more modern, Scandinavian style then take a look at our Stockholm or Dapple textured bedspreads. Both are light-weight and drape beautifully.
New Throws and Blankets
We are constantly updating our range of throws and blankets – we have new throws in quilted cotton, wool and faux fur. This new range of soft quilted throws are available in a range of colours: we currently have stock in black, mauve, blush pink and jade green. Fashionable colours selected to work with many of our duvet sets: the green leaf print set, blush pink bedding with an art deco or bamboo print or our linen bedding in slate (an off black).
Whether you choose a blanket instead of, or in addition to, a bedspread will depend on the the weather, the tog of your duvet and how much you feel the cold! We have soft, light blankets available in a range of styles that will work over the end of your bed or on your sofa. Our quilted cotton blankets are available in a range of prints and plains – the new mini floral print is one of my favourites. Soft merino and alpaca throws can also be found here in a range of styles and colours, from neutrals to brights. While cosy faux fur throws are also available in a wide range of colours.
