Christmas is a time of gathering. We gather all our presents under the tree, all our favourite foods at the table, and all our friends and family under one roof. It’s a special time of year when we all get to rest, exchange gifts and be merry. And when it’s all done and everyone has tired eyes, your guests need a place to stay! So we’ve compiled a mini how-to guide on creating a cosy Christmas guest room.
Of course, here at Natural Bed Company, the first item on our checklist is cosy Christmas bedding! We have a lovely range of duvet sets made from snuggly materials, perfect for a luxurious lie-in at Christmas. Treat your guests to brushed cotton duvet sets for the ultimate winter warmer, or opt for festive colours such as reds and greens to mark the occasion.
Top Tip – Pair any bedding scheme with a soft faux fur or wool throw for a touch of luxury and an extra layer for cold nights!
If you really wanted to treat your guests, and keep them extra warm in bed, you could consider popping a hot water bottle in their room for them to fill up as the night draws in. We have a range of super-soft faux fur hot water bottles that would be perfect. Pair with a cinnamon-spiced hot chocolate and you have the ultimate in Christmas cosiness!
Creating a cosy atmosphere in a room makes all the difference. Lighting can play such an important role in this, and can set the tone for a good night’s sleep. Our book lights make for lovely gifts, and also provide a subtle, soft light for napping or reading by. The stylish St Ives lamps also provide a soft glow for serious snugly vibes, and their lantern shape lends itself to Christmas decor, but can be used all year round!
Candles also make for a great way to fill the room with scent and soft lighting. Just make sure they’re kept out of reach of any young children staying over! You can find all our candles here, and all our lighting options here.
The icing on the cake of your cosy Christmas guest room is the decorations! Pop a few of our miniature Christmas trees on dressing tables or bedsides, hang a beautiful wreath above the bed and get some stockings ready for filling. You can find our full range of Christmas decorations here, ready to fill your guest room with cheer.
Another great way to bring some Christmas vibes to a room is with scent. Opt for candles or diffusers with a naturally festive scent such as pine, peppermint or frankincense for the perfect finishing touch.
