Our Camden beds are amongst our most popular designs. This year, we’ve revamped our much loved Camden beds to make them even easier to put together, whilst still retaining their classic mid-century aesthetic. New & improved, read on for all the details about how this customer favourite has changed.
Made with slightly thicker sections of timber, the updated Camden collection has been designed for a new method of assembly. Following feedback from our customers that the original design was a little finicky, we have revamped the design to suit our more simplistic, ‘Nevada’ style assembly. In order to keep our beds looking as elegant as ever, we have also made the updated Camden collection ever so slightly taller. Due to the thicker sections of timber used, all beds in the Camden collection have been made approx. 2cm taller to the height of the bed slats. The under-bed clearance still remains the same. Meaning, you can still benefit from storage space beneath the bed, or utilise our own under-bed drawers. But the actual base height of the bed has been increased to retain the delicate nature of the beds’ design.
We only use sustainably sourced timbers to make our beds. Handmade to order in our Sheffield workshop, all beds are available in our full selection of hardwoods, with a selection also available in pine. All from EUTR certified sources, our hardwoods come from Northern Europe, the USA or Canada, and our pine from Scandinavia. You can read more, and order samples of our timbers just here.
Our Camden collection not only encompasses five stunning beds (the Camden, Hoxton, Bloomsbury, Carnaby and Pimlico). It also includes three stylish bedroom furniture pieces. The Camden Bedside Tables, Camden Drawer Tables and the Camden Bench still perfectly complement any of the beds in this collection. Made with the same curved leg shapes and beautifully rounded edges; perfect companions for your bedroom.
Though the design may have been updated and tweaked, the overall look and style of our classic Camden beds has not changed. Still keeping their curved, softly rounded edges, and retaining the look we all know and love!
Our Camden beds will always be a firm favourite for us, and (we hope!) for our customers.
