Whilst January is a time of hibernation as we wait for spring to come, trends never sleep! Over the last few years, we’ve seen a real shift towards more colourful, expressive interior design. This year’s predictions follow a similar vein, as we’re seeing bold colours and clashing prints getting lots of attention! Read on as we explore the predictions and expectations for design trends in 2025.
Last year, warm earthy colours took centre stage, with shades of terracotta, clay and brown. Whilst we expect these colours to remain strong moving into 2025, the one to watch is cherry. Shades of burgundy, deep reds and rich purples are expected to be all the rage. We love this trend as it invokes indulgence and luxury. Why shouldn’t you treat yourself to your favourite things? Cherry is a bold and expressive colour, and leaves a feeling of drama in its wake.
To introduce this trend into your home, we have a few special pieces to help you out. Take a look at the new Crimson & Charcoal Soft Lambswool Throw for a pop of bright, bold cherry-pink, shot through with deep charcoal. Or, the Extra Large Merino Throw is another great choice in the shade ‘berry’. A bold and brighter alternative, striped with ivory and a purple-burgundy shade. Prefer a plain throw? Take a look at the Plain Soft Quilted Throws in merlot or red ochre. These are muted cherry shades, perfect for incorporating into different settings!
Another way to introduce cherry into the home is with paint. If you really want to commit to this look, dark, deep burgundy walls are a great place to start. This colour really makes a statement and can transform any space. If you’re thinking of bringing it into the bedroom, you could always match it with an upholstered bed with a deep red fabric headboard…
A new one in design trends for 2025! Parisian interiors always give that wow factor. And this trend prediction takes us back in time to one of the most romantic design styles; Rococo. Originating in France in the 1700s, Rococo is grand, expressive and opulent. It makes use of natural motifs such as leaves, animals and seashells, and often features sprawling, carved architecture. Another characteristic of Rococo design is a pastel colour palette. Think soft pinks, sea-foam greens and baby blues, often paired with pale neutrals. You can mix and match patterns within this colour palette, too, to get a real authentic effect.
Taking this one home? Think baroque pastel; swirling patterns and soft colours, floral prints and lace curtains. The Flora Bedding Sets are ideal. Pair with similarly toned throws and add some antique gold frames to the walls and you’re golden! The Pure Cotton Floral Bedspreads are another great choice for this style. With a traditional floral pattern and pale colour scheme. They’re available in ivory, ecru or green. Another staple of Rococo styling is ruffles. The Linen Ruffle Edge Cushions or Pure Cotton Ruffle Bedspreads are great options here!
If you’re wanting to bring this look to the forefront of a room or even a whole home, we suggest paying particular attention to the walls. Rococo design made huge features of walls, with ornate carvings and details. Whilst that may not be so easy in our modern homes, panelling is a great way to bring this in on a budget. Wall panelling can add instant flair to any space. To make it even more Rococo, why not add a floral wall paper within the panel frames, and maybe add some gilded frames or light fittings to really finish it off. If it’s the bedroom you’re thinking of for this look, a four-poster is the one to go for!
Primary colours have definitely been creeping into design tendencies over the last few years. They’re synonymous with childhood and playfulness, and bringing this into your home can be both fun and somewhat liberating. This trend focusses on self-expression, with an ‘anything goes’ approach. You want to paint your own furniture? Go for it. Draw on the walls? Yep. Bright orange sofa with blue and red cushions? Why not! This trend embraces doing things you love in your space, and being loud and colourful with it.
Bringing this trend home is probably the most fun. Let your inner child loose and choose bold colours and prints. We love the Woven Colour Block Throws for this one. They’re fun and colourful, plus their woven texture is reminiscent of childhood blankets – the perfect combo for this trend! The Radiant Retro Bedding, Curves Bedding and the Organic Cotton Satin Bedding are also fantastic options. Bold and bright; exactly what we need. Pair any of these with a couple of the Colourful Retro Candlesticks or Colourful Mushroom Lamps and this look is good to go.
Take this trend even further by customising or up-cycling your own furniture to create your own accent pieces. This style is all about making a space your own and breaking the rules a little bit. So, why not give an old piece of furniture a colourful makeover? If you’re sticking within the realms of this trend, try bright colours like red, blue or yellow. You could even add patterns or highlight accents within the furniture itself, such as borders or handles. The trick is to make it yours and make it bold!
Next up in design trends for 2025; clash those colours. And those patterns, and that colour scheme and that sofa with those curtains. Following on from the maximalist trend that’s been a bit of an underdog over the last few years, clashing colours and patterns are sure to reign supreme this year. This trend has a distinctly 90s feel to us here. There’s something nostalgic and almost whimsical about clashing colours and patterns. Reminiscent of cosy bedding, tartan prints and floral kitsch.
If you’ve spent any time in the bedding section on our website, you’ll have found a pretty wide selection of quilted throws. These come in a plethora of colours and patterns; perfect for this trend. Their quilted feel also brings a nostalgic element – ideal. You can find them all just here on the website. Another great option are the Merino Lambswool Check Throws. Available in three colourful patchwork options and super soft to boot. Or, the Gingham Cotton Bedding and Striped Cotton Bedding sets are also easy additions to create this look at home. Add a throw in a clashing colour and you’re done!
To achieve this look at home, you can really tailor it to your preference. Go big with bold, jewel tones and clashing patterns and colours in similar tones. You can pull a maximalist look together by choosing clashing colours that still sit harmoniously with one another. Think purple and green with pops of yellow or gold for a modern maximalist feel. Or, choose more muted schemes and let the patterns be the clash. Colours such as pinks, pale greens and blues can pair really well together, but have a more nostalgic feel.
