The latest addition to our bed collection is a low platform bed with lovely soft curved edges. The new Portland bed is available in all our hardwoods and a wide range of sizes. It’s been designed to appeal to those who love the show-stopper impact of our Oregon bed but are looking for a slightly softer style.

How Does the Portland Differ from the Oregon Bed?

The Portland is a low platform bed – like the Oregon – but is has many subtle differences….

The Portland headboard is placed vertically – unlike the Oregon which has a reclining headboard panel. You see a bit more of the headboard panel this way.
The edges of the panel are also rounded, with curved upper corners. This gives a softer appearance.

The rounded edge details follows through the rest of the design. The side and foot platforms also have gently curved edges. These panels are also slightly narrower than on the Oregon resulting in a slightly smaller footprint.

Attention To Detail

The softer look extends to the bedside table too. The Portland bedside table has a gentle curve to the top join with the legs, reflecting the curved lines of the Portland bed. While the Oregon bedside table has a square corner detail where the top meets the table legs, matching the crisp angular detailing on the Oregon bed.

The Portland bedside table is ultra low – perfect to pair with the Portland bed. It works well with our other extra low beds too, such as the Ki or Kobe beds.
