The Iona is a sleek, low bed base accentuated by a cosy upholstered headboard. Stylish and contemporary with an extra dose of comfort. The frame is, like all our beds, handcrafted and made to order. It also boasts a compact footprint; just like our Sonora and Nevada bed bases. You can order the Iona bed frame here upholstered in our standard fabric options; Amatheon, Eco Velvet & Poole. These are durable fabrics with a high wool content, made by Warwick.

The Iona is a sleek, low bed available in a range of timbers. Characterised by its cosy headboard panel, you can also select from a range of fabrics for the upholstery. Our Iona is pictured here in the colour Amatheon Emperor and Eco Velvet (Indigo), and in Parquet Petrol from our premium fabric range. The Iona is available to order here in our standard upholstery options; Amatheon, Eco Velvet & Poole. It is also available to order in our premium fabric option (Parquet) just here.
The Iona low bed pictured in the main images above is in solid walnut. Also in this image, the buttoned headboard is upholstered using Amatheon from our standard fabric range in the colour Emperor (plum). We also have the Iona pictured in ash with the buttoned headboard upholstered in Indigo Eco Velvet. In addition, we also have the Iona pictured in oak with our premium upholstery option, Parquet, in the colour Petrol (blue-green).

All our wooden beds come with sprung beech slats as standard, for extra comfort and to increase the life of your mattress.
Every bed is made to order. Our lead-time is usually around 8 weeks (+ delivery). This can fluctuate throughout the year, please do get in touch for the most up to date information.
Amatheon – 70% Wool, 25% Polyamide, 5% Acrylic The Amatheon fabric is a solid, opaque fabric which boasts bold colour options. You can find the full range and order samples here on our suppliers’ website, but our most popular colours are listed below. Supplied in the UK by Warwick. Made in Italy.
Poole – 70% Wool, 25% Polyamide, 5% Other Poole is a marl-like fabric, blended with differing tones to create a myriad of colours. It also features a subtle, fine herringbone pattern. You can see the full range of colours listed below. You can also order samples here from our supplier’s website. Supplied in the UK by Warwick. Made in Italy.
Eco Velvet – Pile: 100% recycled polyester. Backing: 70% modacrylic, 25% cotton, 5% synthetic fibre Eco Velvet is Warwick’s first 100% recycled pile velvet – each meter of Eco Velvet repurposes around 30 x 550ml bottles otherwise destined for landfill. FR compliance is achieved through a clever naturally FR modacrylic blend backing, so there is no requirment for any further chemical FR treatement. We can also upholster the Iona in our premium, pure wool fabric range. As well as Amatheon Emperor, the Iona is also photographed in our premium fabric; Parquet in the colour Petrol. You can find this here on our website.
If you would like to order this bed upholstered in your own fabric, please contact us for further information. We will require approx. 2m of plain fabric for this bed base, potentially more if your fabric is patterned. Fabrics must also comply with the appropriate Fire Retardancy certification as required.
Our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity, allows you to appreciate the myriad colours and subtle variations in tone of natural timber. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.

Mattress Depth Information: All of our upholstered bed bases are designed to fit a mattress depth of around 20cm.
If your mattress is much deeper than this, the thickness of the cushioned headboard can prevent the mattress from sitting perfectly on your bed frame so it may overhang along the bottom edge slightly. We can customise any of our upholstered bed bases by slightly raising the position of the headboard panel to suit the depth of your mattress - most small alterations do not require any additional cost. Outside of the Sheffield area, we use a carrier. Delivery is arranged with the carrier once your order is ready, and will be on an agreed day and time slot.
Within the Sheffield area, we deliver using our own vehicle. Once your order is ready to be delivered, we will contact you to arrange a delivery date and time slot.
