The Iona is a low bed with a cosy upholstered headboard. Available in choice of hardwood timbers, it is stylish and contemporary with extra comfort. The frame is handcrafted and made to order. It boasts a compact footprint, just like our Sonora and Nevada bed bases.

The Iona is a sleek, compact low bed, with an upholstered headboard for a cosy look. Here, it is available to order in our premium, pure wool upholstery option: Parquet. Made from solid oak, the Iona pictured above has a headboard upholstered in Parquet Petrol (a warm blue-green). You can order the Iona in all our timbers and our full range of fabrics. As standard, all our wooden beds are fitted with sprung beech slats. These provide extra comfort and help to increase the life of your mattress. We also supply non-slip matting with this bed to help keep your mattress in place.
Each bed is made to order. Our current lead-time is around 6-8 weeks (+ delivery).
About our Upholstery Options: Made to order, the Iona is available in two different fabric ranges. Here, you can order it in our Premium fabric option; Parquet. However, it is also available in our standard fabric range, which you can find here on our website.
Parquet is a luxurious, 100% wool fabric, available in a range of contemporary colours. You can find the full colour range here on our suppliers’ website. Within the Premium Fabrics tab to the left of this page, you will also find detailed images of the fabric swatches. Please contact us if you would like to receive samples of any of the fabrics.
If you would like to order this bed upholstered in your own fabric, please contact us for further information. For plain fabrics, we would require approximately 2m to complete the upholstery. If you intend to use a patterned fabric, more may be required. Fabrics must also comply with the appropriate Fire Retardancy certification as required by law.
Lacquer Finish: Our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity, allows you to appreciate the myriad colours and subtle variations in tone of natural timber. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.

Mattress Depth Information: Our upholstered bed bases are designed to fit a mattress depth of around 20cm. If your mattress is much deeper than this, the thickness of the cushioned headboard can prevent the mattress from sitting perfectly on your bed frame, meaning it may overhang along the edge slightly.

Within the Sheffield area we deliver using our own vehicle. Outside the Sheffield area we use a carrier. When your order is ready we’ll contact you regarding your delivery. Delivery will be on an agreed weekday between 8am and 6pm. In some cases it may be possible to deliver on a Saturday or on a specified day - for an extra charge - please contact us for details.
