Kobe Low Bed – Without Headboard

(2 customer reviews)

from £450

The Kobe is ideal for those looking to achieve a simplistic, oriental style. Its extra-low design makes it appear to float above the floor, due to the solid inset legs.

If you prefer a headboard on your bed, you can also order the Kobe with a headboard. Either option would make a beautifully subtle addition to any bedroom space.

Product Description

The Kobe is the lowest of our family of Japanese style beds. These low beds have differing heights, but all are in keeping with that Oriental look. The Kobe is pictured above in Sanded Pine, but can be ordered in our full range of timbers. Take a look at the Our Timbers page to learn more about the woods and finishes we offer.
You can also order the Kobe with a headboard if you prefer. And, you can find all our Japanese style beds here on our website.

All our Japanese style beds pair beautiful with the Kyoto Shelf table or Kyoto Drawer table, if you’re looking for a complete room set.

All our wooden beds are fitted with sprung beech slats for extra comfort and to increase the life of your mattress you will also be supplied with non-slip matting to keep your mattress in place.

Every bed is made to order. Our current lead-time is currently around 6 – 8 weeks (+ delivery).

Lacquer Finish: Our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity, allows you to appreciate the myriad colours and subtle variations in tone of natural timber. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.

Easy self assembly. Click here to see our simple self assembly instructions.

Overall width: same as nominal size, e.g. a 150cm Kobe is 150cm wide
Height to top of bed slats: 14cm
Under-bed clearance: 7cm

Before I found the Natural Bed Company I have been searching for a bed like Kobe for a long time unable to see something which matches the image I had in my head.

I love the added benefit of knowing that it is a bed that has been made extremely well using the best materials.

Thank you for providing me with a bed for life

From the point of initial contact with The Natural Bed Company, I was impressed with their service. I was researching how I could improve quality of sleep, including better back support. I had heard of futons before and was searching along this line when I contacted The Natural Bed Company to ask for some information about the variety they sold. During this conversation I learned of the Kobe and the description of it, and the range of mattresses available, was spot on for my needs, so I went for it.

The flat pack that arrived was extremely well presented and it took me around 45 minutes to construct the Kobe from the instructions provided – a Pozidrive 2 screwdriver being required though other than this everything needed to erect the bed was supplied. The Kobe is a work of art, in addition to being the most back-supportive bed I’ve known and I do recommend it. It is very light for a bed and was easy to position once erected, the only caution here being that due to its weight it will move if one leans against it and therefore it must be treated with respect.

I recommend the bed and the company that makes them, The Natural Bed Company.
