Wild Silk Filled Duvet – Summer Weight

Product Description

This luxurious, natural wild silk filled duvet has a fine, organic cotton batiste cover. Silk is often the material of choice for people who suffer from sensitivities and allergies, it is also even said to have healing qualities.

The silk used in this duvet is wild silk which means it is harvested after the silk worm/moth has left the cocoon. The texture is more irregular than conventional fine silk making this an excellent filling material. The duvet feels light and soft.

Silk is very temperature and moisture balancing and particularly effective at cooling when temperatures are high. This is why silk worms protect themselves from the humid, tropical climate of Asia by wrapping themselves in silk threads. It is recommended for people who are very sensitive to their environment.

The duvet features a ‘mummy-style’ quilting pattern (wider at the top and narrowing at the feet). This gives the duvet more drape so it can better ‘envelop’ the sleeper and keep out draughts. These duvets are also equipped with cotton ties on the corners which allow them to be combined with other duvets for extra weight and warmth.

Care Instructions:

• Duvets made with animal fibres have the natural capacity to regenerate themselves; air them frequently.
• Stains can be spot-cleaned using a special wool detergent. Do this gently by hand and direct a handheld shower onto the area to be cleaned.
• Make sure the duvet is dried thoroughly (ideally on a flat surface) before placing it into a duvet cover.
• Can be dry-cleaned if needed.
