Wild Silk Filled Duvet

Product Description

This luxurious, wild silk filled duvet boasts a fine organic cotton cover. Often the material of choice for those suffering from sensitivities and allergies, silk is even said to have healing qualities.

Wild silk differs from other silks in that it is harvested after the silk worm/moth has left the cocoon. It also offers a more irregular internal structure than conventional fine silk, making it an excellent material for filling. Resulting in a light and soft, yet snuggly texture.

Furthermore, silk is excellent at balancing moisture and regulating temperature. In particular, it is effective at cooling when temperatures are high – which is why silk worms protect themselves from the humid, tropical climate of Asia by wrapping themselves in silk threads. Therefore, it is recommended for people who are very sensitive to their environment.

The duvet features a ‘mummy-style’ quilting pattern (wider at the top and narrowing at the feet) which gives the duvet more drape so it can better ‘envelop’ the sleeper and keep out draughts. These duvets are also equipped with cotton ties on the corners which allow them to be combined with other duvets for extra weight and warmth.

Care Instructions:

• Duvets made with animal fibres have the natural capacity to regenerate themselves; air them frequently.
• Stains can be spot-cleaned using a special wool detergent. Do this gently by hand and direct a handheld shower onto the area to be cleaned.
• Make sure the duvet is dried thoroughly (ideally on a flat surface) before placing it into a duvet cover.
• Can be dry-cleaned if needed.
