The Pimlico handmade bed is a contemporary take on a classic mid-century style. Our latest design – it is a variation on the Camden – a beautiful, handmade, solid wood bed with shaped legs and soft curves to the edges. The Pimlico is lower than the Camden with shorter, slightly less tapered legs and a lower headboard panel, it’s therefore perfect for attic rooms and bedrooms with a lower ceiling.
Like the Camden the different directions of the grain on the legs and headboard make for an interesting detail. Available in a range of hardwoods, shown here in maple, cherry, walnut, oak and also ash with a black lacquer finish.

The little sister of our Carnaby, the Pimlico handmade bed features the same base but with a shorter headboard. A beautiful low bed with elegant curves and gently softened edges. Expertly crafted from your choice of solid wood timber. Find an overall taller version in the form of our Camden bed base, or a version with just a taller headboard with the Carnaby.

Please note, we have recently updated our Camden collection to include slightly thicker timber sections which results in a simpler assembly. These changes are very subtle and can be seen in the main image. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

All our wooden beds are fitted with sprung beech slats for extra comfort and to increase the life of your mattress.

Every bed is made to order. Our current lead-time is currently around 6 – 8 weeks (+ delivery).

Lacquer Finish:
Our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity, allows you to appreciate the myriad colours and subtle variations in tone of natural timber. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.

Mattress Depth Information:
Our bed bases are designed to fit a mattress depth of around 20cm. If your mattress is much deeper than this, please let us know.
We can customise this bed by slightly adding to the headboard panel. When placing your order, please do let us know your mattress depth. We can then confirm if any alterations are required and if there would be any additional cost involved.

    We needed a bed that would sit under our sloped roof. We like being under the skylights. This bed was the perfect height. Although we had to wait a very long time as the factory was still working through the lockdown backlog, it was completely worth it. It’s a lovely solid bed, the construction was easy. The wood has a great hard wearing finish that feels amazing.

This bed base is a part of our wider Camden Collection, the full range of which can be found linked below. The unifying look of the beds in this collection are the shaped legs and soft curves to their edges, each bed having a mid-century inspired look. As the name suggests, this range originally started with our popular Camden bed base, and has since expanded to include many more designs.
