You asked and we listened – we’re excited to say that we’re expanding our mattress range! At Natural Bed Company we are always looking for ways to improve our stock and provide the best quality products and service, with our ethics for design, quality and sustainability at heart.
With this in mind we are introducing a new collection of mattresses that are not only natural and chemical-free, but also great quality so there is no need to compromise on comfort! With 2 filling options and 3 different firmness options, there is something to suit everyone’s comfort needs. In this blog I’ll go over the six (Yes, six!) new mattresses that are now available to order
Something we get asked a lot about are chemical-free mattresses. More and more of our customers are conscious about the products they are using, for themselves, their families and the environment.
These unique mattresses use an exclusive, pure and natural, biological Fire Retardant; so they pass all UK fire regulations without the need for additional chemicals. This Bio-based compound is a by-product from the dairy industry so is non-toxic, biodegradable and 100% sustainable. It is perfect for those of us who wish to live as ethically and naturally as possible, and for those with strong allergies or chemical sensitivities, and who want a really comfy bed!
The Westgate Mattress
The Westgate is a luxurious British Wool-filled sprung mattress. Its 2000 pocket springs are individually hand nested in Hampshire Wool, surrounded by a combination of moisture controlling silk and soft temperature regulating cotton, all enveloped in a hand-tufted Egyptian cotton cover
This mattress will be available in 3 comfort options – Soft, Medium and Firm, so everyone can find their perfect level of comfort and support!
The Weldbank Mattress Range
The Weldbank range is made in a similar way to the Westgate mattress, but silk and wool are replaced by performance soft cotton.Similar to the Westgate, there are 3 different comfort options, but this time the variration is more noticeable as the spring count varies with each model.
The Weldbank 2000 – This mattress uses 2000 hand nested pocket springs in the sumptuous natural cotton filling, perfect for those who prefer a soft/medium feeling mattress without compromising on support. This model is called the Weldbank Soft, but is actrally firmer than the Weldbank 1000. We are able to order the Weldbank 2000 in ‘satndard’ and ‘firm’ versions too (priced the same as the ‘soft’), please contact us to discuss.
The Weldbank 1000 – This mattress is a classed as ‘standard’ firmness, however we find this mattress slightly softer than the 2000 ‘soft’ sprung option. This is due to the lower spring count – the Weldbank 1000 is ideal for children, those with lighter body weights or if you prefer a soft mattress.
The Weldbank 1400 – This is the orthopedic version, so provides a firm feel for those with back issues, heavier weights or just prefer the feel of a more solid base
And as if the above doesn’t sound amazing enough, they are all handmade here in the UK, just like our bed bases! This range can also be made in non-standard UK sizes such as Euro-King and Euro-Double. If you require a non-standard size please get in touch for more information and pricing.
