Now that 2021 is here, we’re looking ahead to possible interior design trends that we think may be popping up in all of your favourite interior design magazines, Pinterest boards and homes!

Hidden Storage

Following all the open shelves of previous years, 2021 is going to feature more closed-in storage. As we’re all spending more time at home, creating a clean and calm space has become a priority for many, especially those who have been working from home and brought the office clutter to their living room!

Depending on your style, we have a few options to help you achieve that much needed declutter!
Check out the Black Lotus Furniture range if you’re into beautiful wooden pieces or the Mustard Lockers for stylish and practical storage with fun pops of colour!

Soft Textures + Warm Tones

Following on from my last point, we all need a little extra comfort at the moment and it seems people are craving those soft comfortable textures and a sense of calm. More upholstered beds, chairs, fluffy throws and light natural materials.

We love Ash and Oak beds for a true natural look, paired with a luxury Faux Fur Bedspread for the ultimate cosy, natural look. Take the cosy feeling all over the house with a good pair of slippers, a hot water bottle and comfy loungewear!

Quality over Quantity

A big interior design trend we have been seeing more of over the last few years is greener living. Now, we don’t mean crack out a tin of lime paint, but, following on from natural textures, more and more people are looking for quality eco upgrades – pieces that are good for the planet and your space!

Well, we couldn’t not mention our beautiful beds in this blog! All of our bed bases are hand made here in our Sheffield workshop with sustainably sourced timber. We believe good design, quality craftsmanship and sustainable, natural materials should last you a lifetime!
We also stock a range of organic bedding, toiletries, towels and sheets!

Honourable Mentions

Bar carts – Of course, we all miss those friday night drinks with colleagues or meeting up with friends for a chat over a glass of wine and pizza. As a result, lots of us have mastered our favourite drink order at home for the time being! How better to display your growing collection of cocktail accessories than on a bar cart
Dried Plants – Arguably, these are very popular already, and I think the softer flora will certainly become more and more popular as the year goes on. But, I don’t think they’ll take the place of our beloved houseplants!
Non Matching Room Sets – I think that the matching living room set has been on its way out for a while, so not necessarily a new trend. Mismatched furniture gives a more custom and unique feel to a space and therefore makes us happier in it as we’ve hand selected each piece! We love mixing different Ethnicraft pieces for a unique but cohesive look.
