Inspired by natural elements, many of our solid wooden beds work perfectly in these schemes. We find that investing in a few high quality pieces that serve both form and function is key to creating a beautiful Japandi bedroom.
Our range of low Japanese style beds are perfect for a Japandi bedroom scheme. They have a pared back simplicity with a bold, modern rectilinear design. Our core collection of Japanese style beds is made up of the Kyoto, Kumo and Kobe beds – all available with or without a headboard panel.
They are available in a range of hardwoods (oak, walnut, cherry, ash, maple and beech) or solid pine. A classic Scandinavian look generally utilises blonde woods like ash, oak or maple. Above you can see the Kyoto bed in solid oak dressed with neutral bedding and accessorised with a black oak Osso stool. Simple, restful and contemporary.
Keeping our bedrooms looking minimal and clean is often easier said than done. Beautiful bedroom storage is essential for the clean Japandi look. We love the Black Lotus Cube range of bedside tables and chests for their simple and clean shapes. The low 1 drawer bedside table looks beautiful pared with the beds mentioned above. Alternatively, the Kyoto Drawer Table offers a more minimal look whilst still offering some storage space and can come in our full range of timbers.
We would also recommend looking at the Ethnicraft range, each luxurious piece is design forward and highlight the natural timber used. The Wave Desk and Nordic Chest in particular look great for this scheme.
The clean lines we’ve created with solid wooden furniture above can now be softened with natural textures and a neutral colour palette. Relaxed linen bedding is a great place to start – a neutral or white colour would work best in this scheme. Layer with a simple textured bedspread or wooly throw for extra warmth and texture. A sheepskin rug adds the ultimate, natural Scandi accent. Prefer Faux? We have lots of luxurious faux fur throws that would help achieve this look!
Pair back your decor for the minimal Japandi look – store your clutter away wherever you can! Natural materials are often used in Japanese and Scandi schemes. So a simple ceramic vase or plant is often plenty to accent your new Japandi bedroom. We love the Modern Cermaic Vases as a simple vessel for dried flowers, their organic shapes and matte finish compliment the look. Lighting a delicately scented candle will also add to the cosy feel. The woodwick candles offer a gentle crackling sound with an amber glow, creating a warm and snug atmosphere.
Your serene Japandi bedroom is now ready for you to unwind with your favourite book and a fresh cup of green tea.
