Introducing our new collection of solid oak bedroom storage

The latest addition, exclusive to Natural Bed Company, is a collection of solid oak bedroom storage that has been designed by our founder Peter Bennion. The collection is made up of a range of high quality, stylish storage solutions – beautifully crafted for us by a small, family manufacturer based in Vietnam.

The Black Lotus range of bedroom furniture is made up of two collections – the contemporary ‘Cube’ and the classic ‘Shaker’ collections.

The Black Lotus Cube Storage Collection:

This is an extensive collection of stylish, modern bedroom storage units – from a compact bedside table with two drawers to a five drawer tall boy and an end-of-bed bench. Here we’ll take a look at the collection and the beds we recommend to go with it.

Open Storage Cubes:
The collection incorporates two open storage cubes – a wide low unit which looks great at the end of the bed, and a narrow unit – put two together to sit at the end of the bed (two together are the same width as a king-size bed) or use at the head of the bed as wide bedside tables.

Low Cubes with a Single Drawer:
The collection incorporates two storage cubes with a single drawer – a wide low unit which looks great at the end of a king-size bed, and a narrow unit – put two together to sit at the end of a double bed (two together are the same width as a UK double bed), or use at the head of the bed as wide bedside tables.

We also have a handy bedside storage unit available. Again in solid oak, but this unit has two drawers and a small footprint – perfect for a smaller bedroom.

The Cube collection is shown photographed with the Malabar bed in solid oak. It will work with any of our solid oak beds, but we particularly recommend the Cube 4-poster, The Shetland or Arran upholstered beds and the Kyoto collection of Japanese style beds (the low Cube units look great as bedside tables, paired with the Kyoto). The clean lines of the Cube range ensures that these storage units look good with any of our contemporary bed bases.

The ‘Black Lotus’ Shaker Bedroom Storage Collection:

This is a smaller range made up of four pieces: a two-drawer bedside unit, a three-drawer chest, a wide six-drawer chest and a tall five-drawer chest. This range has a classic Shaker style – the top is a little wider than the frame, it has simple handle-less drawers and the frame sits on four square section legs.

Bedside Table with 2 Drawers:
This is a useful bedside storage unit, with two large drawers – perfect if you need extra storage space.

The Shaker collection has again been photographed with our Malabar bed – and again we think it looks great! We feel the Shaker range looks good with our solid oak, classic bed bases – such as the Zanskar, Ocean and Cochin beds. The simplicity of the Sahara and Tibet beds means that they will work well with Shaker style furniture too.

The Black Lotus Collection is batch-produced for Natural Bed Company in Vietnam. We aim to keep stock of this range and therefore the lead-time for these items will – usually – only be 1-2 weeks maximum.
