In this blog we will take a look at our collection of modern beds – contemporary designs best suited to a contemporary interior. We’ll also take a look at our favourite modern interior design styles: Japandi, Modern Minimalism, Hotel Luxe and Mid-Centuy.

Japanese style solid wood Kyoto low loft Bed in Oak and with organic bedding.

Japandi

The Japandi look is a fusion of Japanese inspired minimalism and modern Scandinavian style.
Our collection of Japanese look beds is perfect for this style, particularly with simple bedding and a cool Scandinavian colour palette – chalk white, slate or ice blue.
The Kyoto bed is a firm favourite with customers and colleagues alike – in maple or oak is has a Nordic elegance, while when made in cherry or walnut it appears more classically Japanese.
The Oregon bed is a modern platform bed which also suits the Japandi look. Low and wide – it is a real show stopper – perfect for a large loft bedroom.

Modern Minimalism

This look makes the most of our modern, pared back bed designs. Simple, time-less beds that will never date – these models benefit from plain, neutral bedding to focus attention on the beauty of the timber.
The modern Nevada collection is made up of contemporary looking, recti-linear bed designs: Nevada, Sonora, Malabar, Sahara, Tibet, Bamford and Hathersage.
Our Cube bedside tables work really well with these beds and, as they are available in all timbers and three heights, there is bound to be a model to suit.

Hotel Luxe

This is the most luxurious of the modern styles covered here. The best hotel rooms are a real treat to stay in, leaving you feeling pampered and refreshed. In this collection we take a look at our most luxurious beds – the four poster bed collection. Add luxury linen or cotton bedding and all you’ll be missing is room service!
We have a range of stunning canopy beds in solid hardwood. The Orchid is a classic 4-poster with clean lines and full canopy, choose the Highland if you prefer a padded headboard. The Kelham has the same design but with a beautiful chevron detail to the headboard panel, it looks particularly beautiful in walnut, cherry, ash or oak.
For a more open style, try the Oasis or Hatfield beds. The Oasis doesn’t have the connecting upper rails joining the headboard to the footboard. The Hatfield has extra tall tapered posts.
Our most modern four poster is the Cube bed with a low base (just above floor level), a tall headboard and a high canopy – great for a New York Loft look.

Mid-Century Inspired

This look has been popular for quite some time now. Inspired by modernist designers and architects from the late 1940’s to the 60s. This look has clean lines and gentle, organic curves.
The perfect beds for this look are the Camden, Hoxton, Pimlico and Carnaby beds. They have elegant curved, tapering legs showcasing the hand-crafted nature of our beds. The Hoxton, shown here in solid walnut, is a real favourite. The chevron detail to the headboard panel highlights the variety of tone and grain found naturally in solid walnut – just stunning.
We have recently developed matching bedside tables to complete the look. Add bedding to suit the period but with a moden twist. I particularly love our linen bedding in chartreuse – the colour works with the period feel while the relaxed materials gives it a contemporary twist.
