Our beautiful Carnaby ash bed base, available here in a special edition Smoked finish. A beautiful combination; the natural vibrant patterns found in solid ash with a smoked finish. The smoked finish is available in a warm chestnut tone or a cool espresso hue as you prefer.
The Carnaby has the low legs of our Pimlico bed base, with the tall headboard of the Camden. Please see the tabs below for further information on this design, including dimensions, lead time and timber options etc.

The Carnaby is a low, elegant handcrafted bed. The big sister of our Pimlico, the Carnaby features the same base but with a taller headboard. A beautiful low bed with elegant curves and gently softened edges. It is available here in special edition, Smoked Ash – in a choice of two tones:
Warm Smoked Ash: A warm toned lacquer with rich russet brown tones. This finish brings out the vibrant grain of natural ash, while adding a warm chestnut hue. Perfect for a mid-century look bedroom.
Cool Smoked Ash: this is a deep, rich espresso colour lacquer. The bold grain of the solid ash appears a very dark, cool brown, with lighter areas in a smokey mocha tone Perfect for a contemporary bedroom.
A chocolate brown stain laid over natural, sustainably sourced solid ash timber. Ash is a very varied, timber with a lot of contrast and a bold dramatic grain. These unique smoked stains give it a rich deep brown colour, but still allows the patterns, stripes and swirls of the natural grain to show through. The choice of these two finishes allow you to pick the hue to best work with your bedroom style.

Lacquer Finish: Our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity, allows you to appreciate the myriad colours and subtle variations in tone of natural timber. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.

If you’re looking for bedroom furniture to match the handcrafted Carnaby bed, you might like to take a look at our Camden bedside tables or benches. These also pair beautifully with the whole Camden collection, and can be finished in the same Smoked Ash stain upon request.

If you have a much deeper mattress than this, we can customise the design by slightly adding to height of the headboard legs and raising the position of the headboard panel. This customisation may incur an additional cost depending on the adjustment required, which varies depending on the size and timber. Within the Sheffield area, we deliver using our own vehicle. Once your order is ready to be delivered, we will contact you to arrange a delivery date and time slot.

Yes! Most of our handmade items can be tweaked with a variety of customisations. Please get in touch with our friendly sales team with your idea and we’ll let you know what is possible and provide a bespoke quote.
All of our bed bases are delivered flat pack for easy self assembly - we include our full range of assembly instructions online so you can see how straight forward this is! All of our tables are delivered as one piece, so no assembly would be required. Our under-bed drawers simply require the small castors screwing into place.
Our showroom is based in Sheffield city centre. We try to keep a variety of designs and timber son display, but if you’re hoping to see something specific, please do get in touch before your visit.
