Our new Shetland bed has been on the website for a few weeks now and has been generating quite a bit of interest. With that in mind I thought we would take a more in-depth look at our newest contemporary bed base.
Available in a range of hardwoods, the Shetland bed is stylish, substantial, but refined in its detail. The look is achieved through pairing the statement headboard with slender sections of timber. Although appearing slim when viewed from the foot of the bed, the deep headboard makes for an impressive feature. This ensures that the Shetland does not fade into the background.
The bed may be the perfect choice for anyone wanting to create a defined ‘look’ for their bedroom. The timber and fabric are your choice – making the Shetland a bed you can really get stuck in to customising.
The fabric used for the padded headboard is taken from Warwick’s Saville Row range. We currently stock the Wolf, Natural, Earth and Linen options and samples of the fabric are available on request. Simply get in touch, provide us with a delivery address and we will have a swatch sent to you from the manufacturer.
If you wish to use your own fabric, we can accommodate that, too. First, get in touch with us to register your interest in using your own fabric. We will then request a sample from you, to be sent to our upholsterer for approval. If our upholsterer confirms the fabric is suitable, we will then request the required amount for your chosen bed.
For plain fabric, we would require approx. 2m of material. For patterned fabrics, we will also use the sample to calculate the quantity required. All fabrics must be supplied with the correct fire retardancy certification.
Take a look at our extensive range of duvet covers, bedspreads and throws for inspiration when matching your bedding to the padded headboard. Our selection of Bronte throws is definitely worth a look, perfectly complementing the subtle tones of the Warwick fabric options. The New England range of duvet covers and our natural cotton selection of bed sheets may also be of interest if you want to keep the colour palate simple and neutral.
Our Original Cube Tables are the perfect choice to accompany the Shetland, in both design and proportion. The simple but stylish design compliments the bed and the tables are available in all the hardwoods we have to offer (Oak, Cherry, Walnut, Beech, Maple and Ash). If you are looking for additional storage space, the Shetland contemporary bed base can accommodate our Tibet under-bed drawers.
