Here you can find a quick ship Pimlico bed base. Finished in luxe, black stained oak – the finish is almost matte, with a soft, subtle sheen to show off the natural grain of the oak. Available on an expedited lead time, this bed is in a UK standard kingsize (to fit a mattress that is 150 x 200cm).

Here we have a special edition Black Oak Pimlico bed available on a quick-ship lead time of 1-2 weeks. This bed base is brand new and has never been on display – available in a standard UK kingsize (to fit a mattress that is 150x200cm). The Pimlico is inspired by mid-century design, given a contemporary edge with a jet black finish.
This black oak bed boasts an opaque lacquer which allows the strong texture of the oak grain to shine through. Please contact us if you would like a sample of the black stained oak (subject to availability). You can also order the Pimlico in our full range of hardwoods (including the standard oak finish) – please note, new bed orders are subject to our standard lead time. Feel free to contact us for up to date information on lead times.
As standard, we use our ‘natural’ look lacquer finish, named for its clarity. However, the black stain used on this oak bed creates a very opaque finish, whilst still allowing the texture of the grain to show through. It retains a very subtle, soft sheen which protects the timber from grease marks and some stains.
All our wooden beds are fitted as standard with sprung beech slats for extra comfort, and to also help increase the life of your mattress.

If you have a much deeper mattress than this, we can customise the design by slightly adding to height of the headboard legs and raising the position of the headboard panel. This customisation may incur an additional cost depending on the adjustment required, which varies depending on the size and timber. However, this customisation is not possible with this quick-ship bed base, as it is already made. Please contact us for a quote if you would like to purchase a new Pimlico with a customised headboard panel.

Yes! Most of our handmade items can be tweaked with a variety of customisations. Please get in touch with our friendly sales team with your idea and we’ll let you know what is possible and provide a bespoke quote.
All of our bed bases are delivered flat pack for easy self assembly - we include our full range of assembly instructions online so you can see how straight forward this is! All of our tables are delivered as one piece, so no assembly would be required. Our under-bed drawers simply require the small castors screwing into place.
Our showroom is based in Sheffield city centre. We try to keep a variety of designs and timber son display, but if you’re hoping to see something specific, please do get in touch before your visit.
