Here at Natural Bed Company, we love looking into different interior design trends and how different professional bedroom looks can be achieved at home – we tend to focus a lot on the more modern design schemes, but traditional schemes – such as the Shaker style – always stands the test of time and these pieces are classics for a reason!

In this blog I will go through our Black Lotus Shaker collection, and how these pieces can be paired with our bed bases to create a truly timeless and sophisticated shaker style bedroom look!

Mid Century Modern

The first style that comes to mind when looking at the Shaker range is Mid Century Modern – this style has been trending for some time now, visible on many interior design Instagram profiles and many pages of various home decor magazines, and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere soon!

In celebration of this look, we created the Camden – an elegant bed with curves in all the right places. This base was so popular with our customers that we added the Pimlico and Carnaby to the collection, and now the Hoxton!

Tall and Elegant – Cochin and Zanskar

Another popular design for a shaker style bedroom look is a tall and elegant style bed base. Designs such as the Zanskar or the Cochin are timeless classics that would suit a variety of homes and stlyes, their tall tapered legs add extra interest and large headboards make a beautiful display of the solid wood timber. These beds can be paired with the Shaker 3 Drawer Bedside Table in Oak or Walnut or even the Shaker 3 Drawer Chest if you need that extra storage!

Upholstered – Arran, Skye and Shetland

If, like me, you find yourself spending a lot of time reading (or more likely watching telly) in bed, then you may be interested in the upholstered beds range. Beds like the Arran and the Shetland combination of solid hardwood and wooly fabric creates the perfect cosy atmosphere. The Skye in particular looks great with the Shaker Style Tall 5 Drawer Chest as it mirrors the tall headboard height, choose either Oak or Walnut to suit your space!

Clean and Simple – Sahara, Malabar and Tibet

For a more under-stated shaker style bedroom look, check out the Sahara and Malabar, these pair perfectly with the 2 Drawer Bedside (or the 3 Drawer bedside for the taller Tibet bed base). Their simple designs and clean lines mean they will compliment any space. Keep your space neat and tidy with a Large Shaker Style Chest.

Statement Four Poster – Orchid, Oasis

If you’re looking for a bed that provides a real impact – look no further than our Four Poster beds. The Orchid and the Oasis will add a luxurious feel to your bedroom. The linear posts are mirrored with the legs of the Shaker collection and add their own style without being overshadowed by the large canopy beds.
