Browse our collection of upholstered beds and colour lacquered wooden beds, all handcrafted to order at our Sheffield workshop. Each design pairs a solid hardwood base with either a soft, padded headboard in your choice of fabric, or a striking black stained, smoked walnut or smoked ash finish. Every bed comes with a 12-year structural guarantee as standard.
If you want the durability of a solid wood frame with a softer, more tactile feel at the head of the bed, our upholstered designs are worth a closer look. The Bloomsbury is one of our most popular choices – available with buttoned, seamed, wool-covered or faux leather headboard on a solid oak, cherry, walnut, maple or beech base – teaming our ever-popular curved Camden collection legs with a classic upholstered headboard, it suits a wide range of bedroom design schemes.
For chunkier legs and a taller headboard, you might enjoy the contemporary feel of the Arran. It’s ideal if you really want your bed to be the standout feature in your room.
Our Carlisle and Shetland frames are classics, featuring that same gorgeous padded headboard, but with a solid timber frame. The go-to choices if you love the idea of a wooden bed, with plenty of gorgeous solid timber on display, and the comfort of a padded, upholstered headboard.
For more dramatic options, we go bigger with our Skye, or smaller with the Iona. The Skye features a strikingly tall headboard that really makes an impression, while the Iona pairs a classic low bed base with a stunning upholstered headboard.
If that’s not enough drama for you, take a look at the Highland – our four-poster upholstered bed frame, available in that same great range of timbers and fabrics.
Previously we’ve sold some of our designs with painted headboards. These offered a playful colourful touch to our classic headboards. While these are no longer part of our collection, we do offer some dark stained options which are very popular for customers looking for something bold.
Smoked walnut is ideal if you want something darker than our standard range of timbers. This can look fantastic if you already have darker furniture you want to find a match for.
Black oak is dramatic and luxurious, perfect if you really want to make an impression, see it here on our stylish Black Oak Camden.
New to our collection, warm and cool smoked ash are an excellent choice if you love the characterful varied grain patterns of ash, but prefer darker timbers. These options are proving very popular with customers looking for both contemporary and traditional options.
If you’re considering an upholstered bed for the first time, it’s worth understanding how mattress gaps work on these frames – we’ve written a full guide to mattress gaps in our blog to help you choose the right gap and avoid any surprises when the bed arrives. However, if you need any help or advice, please get in touch.
