At Natural Bed Company, we’re always thinking about elegant new designs and we’re pleased to introduce the Dalston to join our classic bed base range. Originally thought up by our workshop team, the Dalston combines two of our popular original designs: the Cochin and the Hoxton!
Following a range of enquiries for customisations and few custom orders, we decided to introduce this design into our range of bed designs. Read on to find out more about this new class bed design…
Initially inspired by the Hoxton Contemporary Bed Base, the Dalston features our ever popular chevron pattern. This expertly craft pattern not only adds a beautiful modern twist on a classic bed design, it also highlights the natural variation within the beautiful timbers we use. We have chosen Walnut for our first display bed to emphasise the mid-century look. You can find out about all our timbers here.

Tall and tapered – the Dalston legs add an elegant touch to the overall design. As originally found on the Cochin, these slender legs are a nod to one of our favourite design schemes: Mid-Century. We have a whole blog post dedicated to this classic style!Due to its straight leg design, you can now achieve that traditional look combined with a statement chevron headboard. Along with the possibility of easily adjusting the headboard size, adding a footboard etc. See our Custom Bed Base: Info and FAQ’s blog for further information on what is possible!
A relatively tall bed base – the Dalston boats a total height of 42cm from floor to the top of the slats (where your mattress would sit). If you are considering under-bed drawers with this design, the we would recommend the tallest Tibet design. Side panels would also be recommended for the two drawers foot end for a more cohesive look!
